Position Overview

Under the general supervision of the CLINICAL NURSING DIRECTOR, OR THE ASSISTANT DIRECTOR, NURSING EDUCATION, and while demonstrating a commitment to the Mission, Values and Management Philosophy of St. Boniface General Hospital, the CONTINUING EDUCATION INSTRUCTOR is responsible for: acting as a clinical educational resource for nursing unit personnel; facilitating the learning process and evaluating learning outcome; planning, coordinating, and in conjunction with the Nursing Director, evaluating unit specific orientation programs; participating in educational activities within the specific Department, the Patient Care Portfolio, and throughout the Hospital; and performing other related duties as required/assigned.

Experience

  • Minimum two (2) years recent Cardiac experience required
  • Experience in educational program planning an asset
  • Demonstrated teaching experience preferred

Education (Degree/Diploma/Certificate)

  • Bachelor of Nursing Degree required

Certification/Licensure/Registration

  • Current C.R.N.M registration required
  • Advanced Assessment Course required

NOTE: Successful completion of the BLS Instructor Certificate will be obtained at a time scheduled by the employer or at a time mutually agreed upon between the nurse and the employer required
