Responsibilities & Tasks
- Understands and explains shift-transfer information.
- Is able to carry out all the tasks related to the position of Line Operator.
- Communicates on a regular basis to the line employees the objectives reached and to be reached according to the production schedule.
- Discusses shift priorities with the Team Leader and the Supervisor.
- In charge of stock replenishment on the lines as well as releasing finished products.
- In charge of verifying components to ensure sufficient quantities and use of SAP for support as needed.
- In charge of validating compliance of clean-ups as well as of the type of cleaning required.
- Participates in equipment dismantling and set-up in the appropriate sequence.
- Responsible for ensuring the integrity of line start-ups as well as of operations during production.
- Participates in component and bulk replenishment on the line to support proper operation of the production line.
- Responsible for executing tests during production, documenting the results obtained, and taking immediate action with QA and the Supervisor in case of non-compliance.
- Ensures that all activities related to the proper operation of the line and the employees’ work are executed in a way to meet established production, quality and safety standards, and ensures that the proper number of persons are working on the line, and if needed the Line Manager assigns the employees to other lines or other work.
- Maintains and ensures that the work area is clean, orderly and safe at all times.
- Forwards daily line activity information to the Supervisor.
- Interacts with the warehouse group and QA auditors to obtain the information required for the proper operation of production lines.
- Carries out cleaning of parts, equipment and premises, including walls and ceiling when required.
- Completes and reconciles Packaging files, as well as required computer transactions (SAP).
- Executes all tasks while optimizing quality and teamwork.
- Responsible for documenting and explaining downtime causes using the system in place.
- Maintains the work area clean, orderly and safe at all times.
- Passes on knowledge to a co-worker as required for operational needs.
- Always applies and respects GMPs, as well as documentation and health and safety regulations.
- Executes any other related task.
Working conditions & Physical environment
- Plant environment – Small and large volume production line.
- Must wear individual protection equipment at all times.
- Work in a standing position.
- Some meal and break periods may need to be shuffled around to ensure that lines are constantly working.
- Operate a barrel-lifter to replenish the lines.
- Operate an electric and/or manual pallet truck.
- Handle loads up to 20 kg.
Skills, Knowledge & Abilities
- Knowledge of the Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) & safety rules
- Good mathematics skills
- Knowledge of computer programs (ex: Excel)
- Capable of working in a way to meet set standard times based on the quality standards in place
- Must have good team spirit and work so that the team meets expected results
- Must be able to participate in various analyses and suggest corrective or improvement measures
- Must be a good communicator and be able to inform his colleagues of past activities on the line
- Good team spirit and stay focused on health and safety at work
Skills : Good Manufacturing Practices’ (GMP) knowledge: Required Advanced
Education : High School Diploma
Experience : 0 years: Minimum high school diploma required or equivalent experience
1 years: Minimum of one (1) year experience in a similar position
