Role Profile
Salary: Academic starting salaries are determined based on qualifications and years of related experience as detailed in the collective agreement for academic employees.
Humber’s Centres of Innovation and Entrepreneurship will integrate applied research into program curricula and provide students with access to interdisciplinary and industry projects. We are seeking faculty who will provide students with an exceptional learning experience as we immerse our students in experiential learning and programs that empower them to think critically, make bold choices and become leaders of change.
Humber offers a variety of credentials including: bachelor’s degree, diplomas, certificates, post-graduate certificates and apprentice programs. Faculty and students excel in business, applied technology, media studies, liberal arts and sciences, social community services, health sciences, hospitality, recreation and lifestyle promotion and creative and performing arts.
The Business Administration – International Program is jointly administered by Humber and Ningbo University in China. This successful partnership has graduated over 1500 students since its inception in 1996.The program provides students with the opportunity to live and learn in two distinct parts of the world, studying business practices and gaining exposure to international business and trade. The students study in China for the first two years of the program, and then complete their third year of advanced studies in Toronto at Humber.
The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching Business Administration-International courses to the students in semesters five and six of the Humber- Ningbo program. In addition to teaching, responsibilities will include curriculum development, lesson planning, assessing student progress and achievement. The successful candidate will be expected to establish an effective and innovative learning environment and work as a collaborative team member.
Minimum Qualifications: The ideal candidate will hold a relevant Master’s Degree with a minimum of three to five years of business experience. A TESL certification (or equivalent) would be an asset. The candidate will possess a minimum of three years’ experience teaching students for whom English is not a first language. The candidate will have the ability to teach interactive, meaningful, and dynamic lessons and will be proficient with learner management systems. The successful candidate will be dedicated to student success with engaging and effective teaching skills, demonstrated ability to coach and support students, and experience managing classroom dynamics. The successful candidate will have a demonstrated commitment to and knowledge of principles of equity and inclusion, be a collaborative team player who is open to feedback and be committed to a positive team culture. The successful candidate will have demonstrated ability to contribute positively to curriculum development and delivery and possess well-developed interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills.
