Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
- Complete time studies in various terminals across Purolator’s network.
- Utilize software Standards Pro (MOST) to complete time study measurements that become the foundation for Purolator work measurement.
- Complete new/updated terminal work measurements in Purolator’s network. This includes AM Dock, PM Dock, On Road, Clerical activities, and more.
- Act as the subject matter expert in time study and work measurement for Purolator nationally.
- Continuously create new time studies as technology and automation are integrated in Purolator terminals. Or when Purolator changes their job design and equipment types.
- Document and facilitate training on how to complete time studies and demonstrate to other Purolator employees how to complete facilities work measurement.
- Work with operations to ensure that time studies are completed properly and are achievable.
- Work with operations on completing work measurement and ensure the measurements consider all aspects of the operation.
- Audit and approve work measurements completed by other departments within Purolator.
- Work closely with colleagues on methods training and how time studies can determine optimal methods. Also measure methods proposed by colleagues in the department. Support in adjustments as needed.
- Work with learning and development on training content as needed.
- Consider health and safety aspects when introducing standards and methods.
- Create daily routines and checklists for both hourly and management employees.
- Provide service support by developing standards that provide consistent and repeatable results.
- Support finance in updating business plan efficiencies.
- Serve as change agent, problem solver, and facilitate cross-functional activities with multi-level team members.
- Ongoing validation of use and effectiveness of the tools and framework deployed.
- Coach and mentor direct reports and enable them to complete all the above job requirements.
Qualifications
- University degree, preferably in Engineering or Business or equivalent work experience to complete documented roles and responsibilities.
- Experience working in an industry that has job methods and a set of standard expectation for each position within the company.
- Multiple years of experience with time study and work measurement, knowledge of time measurement units.
- Demonstrated understanding of time and motion studies and or time allowance measurements.
- Proven experience working with all levels in an organization including senior management.
- Working knowledge of project planning and project management. Demonstrated experience in leading projects and teams.
- Experience in the integration of engineering and management principles, including developing and improving products or services, processes, facilities, information systems, work methods and performance standards, human resource planning, production planning and control, financial and cost systems.
- Continuous improvement skill set including change leadership, process discipline, and managing teams that produce new processes or improve existing ones. Six Sigma/Lean.
- Strong written reporting and verbal skills for one on one, group communications and presentation skills with the ability to direct and communicate business needs.
- Strong problem solving, communication, team building and people skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office; Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook and Teams.
- Logistics/courier industry experience with strong understanding of typical job functions in the industry is an asset.
- Final mile courier industry experience is an asset.
