And where does the Production Support Analyst fit into this?

The purpose of the Production Support Analyst is to provide in depth technical support of the business critical applications at Questrade, Inc. The Production Support Analyst will be responsible for monitoring, deploying to and maintaining production environments. The Analyst will use scripting, tooling to create automation of repetitive tasks to reduce the chance of error and improve platform and service uptime.

Job Responsibilities Include…

• Automate repetitive tasks
• Manage production Trading Systems
• Capable of troubleshooting application layer issues on either IIS, Linux or GKE
• Proactively create alerts and dashboards for Production and Non Production environments
• Manage and Monitor batch jobs for either Start of Day or End of Day
• Manage production incidents
• Be able to review configuration and code changes and assess risk
• Work with Engineering, DBA and System Admin and Network teams in order to facilitate change management process
• Assist to and mentor junior members of the support team
• Ability to work weekends and evenings on call when scheduled
• Be a leader in Questrade Technology group
• Apply ML to come up with smart alerting patterns to proactively mitigate against outages

Are YOU our next Production Support Analyst? You are if…

• You have experience with Google Kubernetes Engine (GKE) and Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• You have experience with Kubectl, Helm, and Terraform
• You have strong Knowledge of Splunk Administration and Querying capabilities
• You have experience with Data Dog
• You have experience in support of critical production systems (3+ years)
• You have excellent problem investigating, analyzing and solving skills
• You have strong Linux capabilities and troubleshooting skills
• You have strong Windows administration and troubleshooting skills
• You have experience with C#, Python, Bash (A must have)
• You have experience with GIT/GitLab
• You have knowledge and experience using at least one of the following database servers (MS SQL Server, or MySQL)
• You have excellent time-management and organizational abilities that facilitate structured teamwork
• You have experience working in the environment with well-established Change and Configuration Management processes is desirable
• You have well-developed communication skills
• You take ownership of tasks and drive them through to completion
• You have good understanding of networks, routers, and TCP/IP and UDP protocols
• You are able to focus while under pressure and pay close attention to detail
• You have the willingness to multi-task and be flexible to take on varied responsibilities
• You have a BS Degree in engineering, computer science or related discipline and experience is desired
• You have experience and/or personal interest in the financial industry an asset
• You love to learn and demonstrates a commitment to learning Questrade’s business and ongoing professional development
