Pinnacle Hotel at the Pier located at the waterfront of North
Vancouver is a 106-room boutique hotel featuring 8,000 square feet of meeting
and event space.
Pinnacle Hotel Whistler Village is an 84-room hotel with
rustic West Coast charm, centrally located in the heart of Whistler’s Village
North, within walking distance to most local attractions.
Role
Vancouver based Sales Manager responsible for soliciting and
securing accounts that yield maximum revenues and profits for two Pinnacle Hotels
in North Vancouver and Whistler.
Key Responsibilities
- Aggressively
solicit, qualify, and manage sales accounts in assigned territory
representing Pinnacle Hotel at the Pier and Pinnacle Hotel Whistler
Village. * Proactively
conduct outside sales calls, solicitation calls and network with key and
prospecting accounts to meet/exceed revenue goals. * Ensure
effective prospecting of the hotel’s key market segments including group,
transient, wholesale and corporate marketing for the attainment of room
revenue budget. * Prospect
and follow-up on all sales leads and promptly execute correspondence to
clients in an effective and efficient manner. * Maintain
and further develop sales accounts. Prioritize accounts while identifying
core accounts and those contributing to need periods. * Ensure
current and prospective client databases are maintained, that files are
kept current and accessible. * Ensure
efficient execution of group reservations, programs and functions. * Work
cooperatively and collaboratively with the hotel teams to achieve revenue
targets. * Customer
service focused and continually striving to exceed guest expectations. * Conducts
hotel site tours and entertains qualified potential clients in accordance
with the company and property policies. * Solicit,
organize and participate in familiarization trips from key clients. * Represent
property at appropriate travel industry trade shows and conferences while
adhering to the guidelines of the marketing plan and budget. * Participates
in industry organizations and all local community functions representing
sales opportunities for the hotel. * Assists
the Director of Sales in the preparation of sales objectives and
strategies of the hotel. * Maintain
all contact, account, activities and booking information in Maestro and
Opera as per the Hotel’s standards. * Prepare
and submit timely monthly reports to Director of Sales. * Provide
feedback and market information to Director of Sales on changing market
conditions, including trends on the competition. * Maintain
a respectful working relationship with hotel team members. * Operate
in a manner of teamwork with the corporate office and sister hotels. * Maintain
complete knowledge of and comply with all departmental policies, service
procedures and standards. * Other
duties as required.
Job Requirements/Qualifications:
Job Requirements
- Minimum two to three years of management experience in
the hospitality industry. * Minimum two years’ experience as a Sales Manager in full-service
hotel property preferred. * Experienced and knowledgeable of handling corporate,
wholesale, leisure and groups. * Proven track record as a successful sales professional.
- Demonstrated knowledge of key stakeholders in the
marketplace and its related hospitality industry trends. * Bachelor’s degree in Hotel Management, Business, Sales,
Marketing or a relevant field of work, or an equivalent combination of
education and work-related experience. * Strong verbal and written communication skills for the
purpose of presenting and discussing technical information to establish
rapport and/or influence and gain understanding of others.

Self-motivated
individual who is organized and able to set and achieve goals for themselves in
alignment with the department and hotel’s overall revenue goals.
- Display strong initiative and ability to make sound
decisions independently, ability to prioritize, organize and follow-up. * Must be able to perform job functions with attention to
detail, efficiency and accuracy. * Must be able to resolve problems using good judgment;
follow directions thoroughly. * Must be able to work cohesively with co-workers as part
of a team. * Demonstrated knowledge of hospitality systems and
software such as Maestro and Opera. * Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office suite.
- Knowledge of and experience with full-service hotel
required.
