Job description:

  • Provide system and application design and development expertise in the creation of new applications and processes.
  • Provide recommendations on technical solution options (data and system architecture) in support of new applications and processes.
  • Provide coaching and guidance to Decision Support Analysts to ensure quality decision making and achievement of the team’s goals and objectives.
  • Manage documentation process in support of existing and new technology builds. This includes mentoring Decision Support Analysts in the creation of documentation and enforcement of OPC documentation standards.
  • Act as primary technical liaison with external partners in support of corporately sponsored and OPC initiated projects.
  • Utilize business knowledge across multiple Supply Chain and CTR areas in order to provide effective technical solutions for various groups within and external to OPC.
  • In collaboration with Decision Support Analyst, provide frontline support for Supply Chain critical systems and applications including an on-call rotation schedule for 24/7 support. Provide second level support escalation for Decision Support Analyst when required.
  • Develop accurate plans and recommendations from the analysis of raw data. Provide guidance to Decision Support Analysts and business clients to identify best source for input data as well as interpreting and analyzing data.
  • Provide ad-hoc information, reports and databases as requested.
  • Communicate and interact with other Supply Chain and IT departments to investigate changes and improvements to information, environments and processes being created.
  • Prioritize and cope with competing and changing objectives in support of long-term goals while maintaining stakeholder expectations

What you bring

  • Post-secondary degree in a relevant discipline.
  • Knowledge of Supply Chain business processes and understanding of retail principles
  • Must have at least 5 to 7 years of hands-on technical working experience with systems development using .NET/C#; MS SQL Server; MS SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS).
  • Web Service development and integration
  • Must have at least 5 to 7 years of hands-on technical working experience with Database development in Oracle and MS-SQL Server. SQL and extensions like Oracle PL/SQL and MS Transact-SQL. Oracle SQL-Loader utility.
  • Must have at least 5 to 7 years of hands-on technical working experience with UNIX (Korn shells, crontab scheduling, etc). AIX preferred.
  • Microsoft Office skills (MS-Access, MS-Excel, VBA ) for Front-end development and support, as well as process diagram documentation software (Visio)
  • Previous experience and exposure to full lifecycle of application and database design, development, testing and implementation.
  • Experience in leadership or project management roles.
  • Experience developing and executing system and application development projects with cross functional IT and supply chain teams that deliver real results
  • Experience in managing multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously.
  • Must have strong analytical skills to develop accurate plans and recommendations from the analysis of raw data
  • Ability to work at both conceptual and highly detailed levels in order to create/enhance processes
  • Experience with Git/Bitbucket an asset
  • Experience with Business Intelligence, Data Science and Data Lake technologies and processes an asset
  • Transportation Management Systems (JDA or OTM preferred). TMS experience from other software vendor(s) would be considered an asset as well
  • Mainframe skills: JCL, TSO, SORT, PL/I, SAS, IMS (BMP) an asset
