General Description

The Senior Director of engineering is responsible for overseeing and coordinating the daily operations of a highly skilled engineering staff while ensuring that company objectives and goals are met.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Recruit, hire, train, mentor, assign and retain top performing professionals in the Engineering (R&D)
• Collaborates with engineering leadership to develop and meet organizational goals while supplying expertise and guidance on projects, operations, and systems.
• Leads and coordinates engineering build process and operations of new and existing product lines.
• Facilitates communication among stakeholders and engineers, ensuring specifications, budgets, and deadlines are clearly communicated and understood.
• Perform employee appraisals and coach team members for high performance and continuous development.
• Working together with the senior management to implement organization strategies, policies, guidelines, etc. to ensure a stable, cost-effective and viable operation on site.
• Communicate organization information, policies, business plan, decisions, goals, targets and promote the organization Vision, Mission and Core Values.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, ground rules, local and international laws and regulations
• Take responsibility for the work environment, health and safety and organization culture.
• Enhance operational procedure, systems and principles in the areas of information flow and management, business processes, enhanced management reporting and systems.
• Update job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities; reading professional publications; maintaining personal networks; participating in professional organizations.
• Directly report to the CTO.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in the area of technical specialty or related area.
• 10+ years’ experience in software product development area.
• 5+ years’ management experience in software development.
• 5+ years’ experience in software designing, programming or testing.
• Advanced knowledge of software engineering theory, concepts and practices.
• Ability to manage remote software development teams.
• Experience working with development tools such as issue tracker, source version control, CI/CD management, wiki from Atlassian, Azure DevOps, JetBrains, etc would be an advantage.
