Description

Your duties will consist of:

  • Carrying out engineering projects based on IEC 61850 standards for digital power systems.
  • Playing various roles, like project manager, project leader and proposal leader.
  • Preparing competitive and value-added proposals.
  • Managing project work packages, schedules, budgets and teams.
  • Designing protection diagrams (logic and control diagrams).
  • Designing substation HMI/SCADA architecture and configuration.
  • Configuring intelligent electronic devices (relays, substation controllers, etc.).
  • Heading testing at BBA’s digital power systems lab.
  • Leading and coordinating the commissioning of digital power systems.
  • Transferring technical knowledge to your colleagues in BBA’s offices across Canada.
  • Promoting expertise at client meetings and by drafting technical documents, blog articles, white papers and much more.

Exigences

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or in a related field
  • At least 15 years of experience in power systems
  • Available to travel to our other offices and client locations across Canada
  • Knowledge of the latest applicable technologies for electrical substations
  • Knowledge of power system communication protocols (MMS/GOOSE/SMV/DNP3)
  • Knowledge of how to configure protection relays and HMI/SCADA systems
  • Knowledge of IEC 61850 settings (manufacturing tools, system configuring tools)
  • Knowledge of telecommunications (Ethernet networks, PTP, PRP/HSR, cybersecurity)
  • Knowledge of test equipment for protection relays
  • Bilingual (English and French)
  • Asset: graduate degree in electrical engineering or a related field
