The Senior Financial Analyst is responsible for the preparation of financial forecasts of the company’s operational sites. The position also contributes to financial and business analysis, and works collaboratively with other team members to drive operational improvements and support the management decision-making process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leads the process of rolling forecasting of the company’s operating sites (casinos), including revenue and cost planning, and consolidation
  • Acts as a liaison and support between the corporate head office, regional offices and the operational sites for all forecasting inquiries
  • Responsible for preparation of regulatory business plans for provincial authorities that oversee gaming industry
  • Provides analytical support of operational projects and opportunities. Collects, analyzes, and interprets operational and financial data to provide a sound basis for business decisions.
  • Participates in development and maintenance of complex models and analyses to support strategic decision making process
  • Assists with the annual budgeting process
  • Writes and compiles various analyses and presentations for senior and executive management
  • Takes on additional responsibilities and special projects varying in length and complexity as required.

What You Bring

  • 5+ years of analytical experience in performing business and financial analysis, as well as forecasting and budgeting
  • Post-secondary education in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, Business Data Analytics or a related field.
  • CFA or CPA designation or in final stages of acquiring such designation
  • Proven track record of forecasting and budgeting with multiple revenue and cost centers. Ability to lead the forecasting process
  • Strong ability to support business decisions through modeling in MS Excel
  • Strong analytical skills required, including (but not exclusive to) financial modeling, operation reviews, and forecasting techniques
  • Proven track record of producing data-driven insights to support projects and initiatives
  • Demonstrated proficiency in working with large structured and unstructured datasets
  • Highly proficient with MS Excel, including pivot tables and complex logic-based formulas
  • Knowledge of business intelligence software is an asset (IBM Cognos BI and MS Power BI is preferred)
  • Experience with ERP systems and financial planning and budgeting software solutions is an asset
  • Elementary to intermediate knowledge of SQL and understanding of data warehousing concepts
  • Willingness to learn with a superior capacity of understanding new concepts and mastering new skills quickly
  • Strong attention to details and high-degree of data accuracy for all tasks performed
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work with team members from many different departments with competing priorities
  • Ability to plan, organize, and effectively manage multiple projects while coping with competing priorities
  • Understanding of casino, food & beverage, and hospitality environments is an asset (but not required)
