The successful candidate will join the Surgery & Anesthesia Applications Team. The Surgery & Anesthesia Applications Team delivers quality service in a fast-paced and high-energy environment. Reporting to the Manager of the Surgery & Anesthesia Team, the successful candidate will work with a team of IT Analysts in the support of clinical applications that are used in the Surgery & Anesthesia settings across Alberta.
Description:
As a Senior Analyst, you will play an essential role in delivering the Connect Care organizational goals, serving as a liaison between the software provider – Epic and AHS to ensure that deliverables meet both technical requirements and business needs. You will have a key responsibility of working with the project team from a design/configuration perspective, resolving complex technical problems, and ensuring reliable operation of both the Epic OpTime and Epic Anesthesia applications, as well as other Surgery and Anesthesia related applications. Responsibilities include: Coordination and facilitation of clinical and technical working groups, with responsibility for business/technical requirements, clinical design, and implementation. Providing leadership and guidance to other IT Analysts on the team. Build/Configuration of Surgery and Anesthesia applications, with a focus on Epic. Ongoing system maintenance. This includes enhancements and general maintenance. Troubleshooting issues that the users of the applications encounter, and provide solutions to resolve the problem. Configuration and testing of application interfaces with other Enterprise Systems. Creating and updating technical documentation. May also include procedures, best practice guidelines, and protocols. Working on large-scale software projects along with a project team. Working directly with vendors, users (Nurses, Physicians, etc.), and other IT teams within Alberta Health Services. The successful candidate will be required to support applications from end-to-end. This includes the gathering of business requirements, configuration, programming, testing, and implementation. As such, strong technical, written and oral communication skills are a must.

Required Qualifications:
Completion of bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Technology or equivalent.
Additional Required Qualifications:
Self-motivated and an ability to work with little supervision. Superior customer relationship skills. Must possess a valid passport and/or relevant documentation allowing entry into the USA and must be able to travel within Alberta. This position will require you to be in a 24 hour on-call rotation.
Preferred Qualifications:
Applicable professional or technical certification is preferred. E.g. ISP certification, ITIL certification, PMP certification, vendor certification or proficiency (Epic OpTime, Epic Anesthesia). 5+ years related experience is preferred, particularly in a healthcare environment supporting Surgery. Experience with Epic, Interfaces/HL7, SQL Server, Citrix, LANDesk, VMware Service Manager, ITIL, Technical writing, Privacy and security assessments, and Project Management is preferred.
