Reporting to the Director, Residential Care Performance, the Senior Manager, Training and Education is responsible for collaboratively leading and overseeing all aspects of educational and content, delivery and accountability for Residential Care departments including long term care homes and retirement communities.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with all levels of management and staff to create, coordinate, and facilitate orientations and workshops. Develop and continuously improve content and materials, programs, courses, and workshops.
- Lead the development and continuous improvement of new and improved training courses and content
- Analyze business practices, processes, procedures, and outcomes to determine and propose education and training needs along with recommending innovative solutions.
- Keep up to date with new adult learning methods, along with new technologies and platforms to more effectively deliver learning content across all positions and staff.
- Provide leadership and coordinates the onboarding curriculums, scheduling, content creation, and Instructional Design.,
- Conduct and track orientation and onboarding for new leaders
- Project manage and collaborate with all levels of management and staff to successfully launch a training and education program for Residential Care
- Develop and implement structures, processes, and tools to enable integrated delivery of training and education
- Work cross-functionally with stakeholders to promote alignment and coordination, facilitates meetings and engagement process
- Create, coordinate and facilitate orientations and workshops
- Identify, develop relationships and utilize “subject matter experts” to create appropriate content and materials as needed throughout Residential Care.
Qualifications:
- Post-secondary degree in Business Administration, Health Care Administration, Hotel/Hospitality Administration, Education, or related field
- Minimum of 5 years related experience in senior care, health care or hospitality sector, incluing 2-3 years teaching or professional training experience
- Project Management experience is required, PMP designation is an asset
- Current knowledge of adult learning concepts and training techniques.
- Accredited Certified Instructor, Certified Hotel Trainer certification (or similar) or the ability to successfully complete upon hiring
- Experience facilitating live instructor led presentations
- Ability to design curriculum in senior care and/or hospitality sectors
- Experience with successfully identifying and building relationships with key vendors
- Ability to collaborate effectively with others while translating plans, concepts and intentions into actions that will achieve consistent results
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to set priorities, solve problems with evidence-based decision-making practices and manage client expectations.
- Good organization, planning, project management and multi-tasking skills
