Purpose
As a member of the Enterprise Communications team within Global Communications and Social Impact, the Senior Manager, Finance Communications leads the planning, development and delivery of communications related to the Bank’s quarterly and annual reporting, mergers and acquisitions (M&A), and regulatory initiatives. The Senior Manager also leads executive communications for the Bank’s Global Finance department and Office of the Chief Financial Officer.

Key Job Accountabilities

  • Leads executive communications for the Bank’s Global Finance function and the Office of the Chief Financial Officer.
  • Oversees internal communications for Global Finance, including Town Halls and all-team communications.
  • Manages all aspects of the Bank’s quarterly reporting communications, including preparing appropriate news releases for distribution via various channels, developing key messages/Q&As, and coordinating leadership guides and other resources.
  • Manages the front section of the Bank’s annual report, including developing the look, feel, and content of the section in collaboration with key stakeholders.
  • Leads the announcement of M&A transactions and divestitures across the Bank by developing strategic communication plans, materials and work back schedules and executing on communications.
  • Partners with the Corporate Secretary’s office on delivering the Annual General Meeting and preparing senior executives with key messaging.
  • Acts as project manager for the communications workstream of significant enterprise regulatory initiatives, including developing communications playbooks, strategies and testing documentation for financial regulators, and consulting on best communications practices for business partners across the Bank.
  • Supports broader enterprise-wide communications initiatives as needed.

Skills, Experiences and Functional Competencies

  • Expert communication skills and exceptional writing abilities.
  • Demonstrated financial acumen.
  • Strong attention to detail and proven excellence in project management.
  • Strong knowledge of the financial services industry and/or a highly-regulated business.
  • A high degree of comfort briefing, supporting, and engaging with senior decision-makers or C-suite executives.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills, as both an independent and collaborative worker, with an ability to build strong cross-cultural and cross-divisional team relationships.
  • Comfort working in a fast-paced and deadline-driven environment, with an ability to remain calm under pressure.
  • Ability to balance multiple priorities and work independently.
  • Fluency in a secondary language (Spanish/French) an asset.

Education / Experience / Other Information

  • Degree in journalism, communications, or equivalent job experience.
  • Minimum of eight (8) years of working experience in a corporate communications or marketing communications role in a complex, dynamic, knowledge-based environment.
  • Experience with Investor Relations, or other financial communications in a highly-regulated environment.
  • Leadership experience is an asset.

Working Conditions
Work is in an unassigned, highly mobile environment; non-standard hours are a common occurrence.
