Department Overview
The Canadian Retail Finance (CRF) organization is a team of professionals that provides finance and advisory support to the Canadian Personal Banking, Business Banking, Wealth and Insurance businesses that form the Canadian Retail Segment, the largest Segment of TD Bank. The CRF team supports the development and achievement of Canadian Retail Segment level financial and business objectives through robust reporting and forecasting capabilities, strategic decision support and advice, as well as competitive benchmarking insights.
The Canadian Retail Finance Innovation and Process Improvement Pod is responsible for the end-to-end journey of ideation, execution, and benefit realization of innovation and process optimization, with the objectives of creating capacity and enhancing effectiveness of insights, processes, and controls across the Canadian Retail Finance Team.

Job Description
The Senior Manager, Innovation and Process Improvement reports to the Associate Vice President, Performance Management & Insights (PMI) and acts as the owner of the Canadian Retail Finance Innovation and Process Improvement Pod.
In addition to Finance partners across Canadian Retail, Corporate, and Operations, the Innovation and Process Improvement Pod also works closely with Enterprise partners across Process Excellence, Change Management, Project Management, Change Delivery, Technology, and Data & Analytics.
This role is a great opportunity to build a build, lead, and grow an innovation mandate that is impact-driven, build an extensive network across the enterprise, while advancing the vision for a better Finance organization.
The primary accountabilities of the Senior Manager include:
- Responsible for the success of the dedicated Pod and the outcome of the innovation and process improvement stream, as measured by maximizing business value and meeting user needs.
- Ideates and establishes and the vision and short/medium term roadmap of the pod. Collaborates with FMT executives and other stakeholders on strategic vision, roadmap and Epics
- Seek innovative solutions to remove redundancies and optimize efficiency through technology and process enhancements, identifies future opportunities and develops phased roadmap for the pod – from business casing to execution to sustainment
- Defines and prioritizes innovation, tools, and/or processes that are in scope for Pod work
- Represents the voice of end user CFR team member
- Owns the user experience, understands end user business value, and prioritizes accordingly
- Works in collaboration with BAs, SMEs and control and delivery partners to write user stories with well-defined Definition of Ready, Acceptance Criteria, and Definition of Done
- Defines the MVPs, release and Sprint goals
- Maintains and manages product backlog
- Represent the CRF team on large enterprise projects to ensure successful implementation and change management outcomes in CRF, as well as achieving business objectives of the project.
- Lead and oversee a team responsible for delivering the mandates aligned to the role. Own, build-out, and advance sound talent agenda for the team.

- Develop and maintain a strong understanding of Canadian Retail businesses, Finance policies and processes to understand and influence business outcome improvements
