About this role:
As part of the Marketing Effectiveness team, the Senior Marketing Analyst will play a key role in the messaging of insights, analysis and performance of marketing tactics with the objective of supporting the growth of Meridian Group of Companies.
The role will have a significant impact on Meridian’s future marketing strategy through the communication of focused research and analysis of tactics and campaigns.
The successful candidate will have a passion for analyzing data, discovering key insights and articulating findings to stakeholders and client groups.
What you’ll do:
Reporting
- In partnership with your peers/clients, maintain existing marketing reporting while working to improve and refine these processes.
- Support and implement the automation of Marketing reporting and analysis.
- Work collaboratively with clients to build unbiased reporting packages and dashboards focused on marketing initiatives and tactics
- Where applicable, provide ad-hoc reporting to clients for use in marketing tactics, product performance or Member specific issues
Analysis & Insights
- Provide insight into the performance of marketing tactics, strategies and campaigns and communicate key findings/learnings to business owners and leaders
- Identify opportunities to accelerate performance across Meridian Group of Companies products and services
- Make recommendations to enhance the success of marketing programs by increasing KPIs such as response rates, conversion rates, sales revenue, ROI, etc.
- Answer questions before they are asked; provide the right information at the right time
Innovation
- Anticipate the changing needs of the business and provide client groups with new and relevant information to make improved decisions
- Develop automated and self-serve solutions to standardized daily/weekly/monthly reports
- Streamline existing processes to increase department efficiency
Market Research
- Possess and build a knowledge base of competitor information and intelligence for use in internal decision making
- Evaluate Meridian’s marketing strategies against its peers with the objective of helping prioritize future marketing investments
What you can bring to Meridian:
Skills/Abilities
- Ability to communicate effectively across the organization
- Possess a strong attention to detail; be concise without comprising the facts
- Well organized with the goal of meeting deadlines in a fast-paced environment
- Experience in developing and working with data models (e.g., Marketing Mix Modelling)
- Experience in developing automation within reporting
- Strong problem solving
- Ability to work in a team-oriented environment
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Technical
- A working knowledge of data management programs such as SQL or SAS
- Experience working in scripting languages such as Python or R, VBA, to set up automation and integrations
- Experience with modern BI/Data Visualization platforms (e.g., PowerBI, Tableau, Looker)
- Proficient in Google Analytics and Google Data Studio
- Proficient in Microsoft Office suite programs (i.e. Excel, PowerPoint)
Education, Designations, Training, and Experience
- Post-secondary education with a focus in Marketing, Mathematics or Business
- Previous experience in business, specifically a financial institution would be beneficial
- Experience/training in the development of reporting and analytics an asset
