Senior Project Administrator
Role Profile
Reporting to the Associate Dean, Applied Research & Innovation, the Senior Project Administrator will be responsible for supporting a wide range of applied research and innovation activities specifically in project management. The incumbent will supervise and implement project management tools and processes for ongoing and new projects including evaluating and suggest new ways to manage future projects, based on Project Trends from various Faculty’s. The incumbent works with Principal Investigators and assists with project scoping, milestone mapping and budget allocations of research projects. The incumbent monitors project progress ensures that department reporting requirements are being adhered to, taking corrective or preventative actions to ensure that the project is able to comply with all objectives. The incumbent collaborates with Applied Research and Innovation (ARI) operations team to ensure that monthly budgets are prepared for all research projects, ensures that Principal Investigators adhere to all ARI project progress requirements. This position is responsible for guiding faculty through the grant application process; providing training, templates, and ensuring that all application requirements are completed as per funder guidelines.
The incumbent will work closely with external partners and faculty as part of the consultation process and build and foster relationships through regular meetings. The incumbent completes environmental scans and literature reviews, prepare reports, to assist in grant preparation. Furthermore, the incumbent will strategize on the data that needs to be collected related to Humber research activities and keep abreast of current technology, partnership and grant prospects to aid these initiatives and will lead the creation and continuous maintenance of a web platform to streamline and centralize the Department’s data.
The incumbent will be responsible for the overall development of data visualization tools used to track research project metrics, research project funding applications and awards, industry partner metrics for both internal and external reporting purposes. The incumbent will work closely with Faculty’s in collection of capstone courses and will prepare data reports on department activities for internal circulation. The incumbent will also coordinate the organization and filing of all project documents for external audit purposes.
The incumbent will be responsible for working with the Associate Dean on ARI innovation strategy. The incumbent will lead Innovation initiatives such as proposing, and delivering programs, such as Innovation 360 with potential and existing partners. Other Innovation projects/initiatives may include environmental scans, organizing and planning networking events, and designing and delivering experiential learning sessions.
Minimum Qualifications
Education
The successful candidate will have a 3-year diploma in Business Management. A 1-year post-graduate certificate in Project Management is considered an asset.
Experience
The successful candidate will have 2 years of progressively Project Coordination/administration experience. The following are assets:
- Knowledge and experience within a college or educational administration environment are considered an asset.
- Experience within a college or educational administration environment
- Knowledge in Innovation Tools, Design Think or Human-Centred Design
- Progressive experience in using Data Analysis tools, Innovation Management tools and Ideation Platforms.
- Licensed practitioner on Innovation Management
- Certified in Change ManagementThe f
- PMP or PMI-ACP or CAPM (preferable)
