Applications for Sessional Instructors are invited by the Werklund School of Education to teach in the Winter 2022 session in Educational Research and Educational Psychology. Please view available courses at: .
Sessional instructors will teach online graduate courses that are integral parts of the graduate programs in the Werklund School of Education.
This term runs from January 3, 2022 until April 29, 2022.
We would like to take this opportunity to acknowledge the traditional territories of the people of the Treaty 7 region in Southern Alberta. The City of Calgary is also home to Métis Nation of Alberta, Region III.
Graduate Programs in Education (GPE) has over 1000 graduate students registered in seven (7) specializations. GPE is proud of the high-quality graduate programs delivered in online formats. Its programs are characterized by a strong learner focus, flexibility, technological innovation, and responsiveness to community desire for accreditation, certification, lifelong learning, and rigorous scholarship.
Position Requirements:
Education Required: PhD or EdD
Educational Research: Educational Research consists of Educational Studies in Adult Learning, Curriculum and Learning, Language and Literacy, Leadership, and the Learning Sciences. Desired qualifications include a completed doctorate in education or a related area, evidence of successful teaching and leadership experience in school, university, or workplace settings, demonstrated experience in online/distance education, and capacity to work effectively in a collaborative culture. Knowledge and understanding of the graduate programs and specializations in Educational Research will also be considered as assets for the sessional teaching positions.
Educational Psychology: Educational Psychology consists of Educational Studies in Counselling Psychology and in School and Applied Child Psychology. Desired qualifications include a completed doctorate in psychology or a related field, registration as a psychologist, evidence of successful teaching and leadership experience in workplace, university or school settings, demonstrated experience in online/distance education for courses delivered online or in a blended format, and capacity to work effectively in a collaborative culture. Knowledge and understanding of the programs and specializations in Educational Psychology will also be considered as assets for the sessional teaching positions.
Courses will be taught online in Winter Term 2022.
