Job description: We are searching for an efficient, organized and motivating Site Manager to join our team on a permanent basis.

A dedicated professional in ICI site management, you will manage and motivate a diverse workforce of trades, internal staff and project stakeholders so that projects are completed on time, on budget and with high quality workmanship. Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and oversee the daily activities of project staff, construction trades and subcontractors, and take corrective action to keep the project on time and on budget for multiple sites
  • Take an active role in the selection, training, assignment and supervision of project staff, including monitoring performance, providing feedback and taking corrective action as required
  • Ensure clear understanding of scope, trades and materials/equipment needed to complete the project as designed in construction drawings
  • Provide detailed instructions to trades on site to ensure schedule and quality control measures are maintained throughout project lifecycle
  • Assist in coordination of subtrades to meet scheduling requirements of project and delivery of materials to site
  • Maintain effective employee relations through ensuring compliance with company policies, labour agreements, resolving employee issues and treating people fairly
  • Monitor job progress and provide regular, detailed progress reports to management
  • Establish effective onsite communication and progress reports with sub-trades and clients
  • Provide input into resolving design issues, change requests, material defects and equipment problems
  • Maintain clean, professional and organized sites at all times
  • Maintain up-to-date municipal and provincial licensing and all certifications required by Site Managers in Ontario
  • Ensure compliance with contracted service level agreements (SLAs)
  • Adhere to and ensure compliance with the company and legislative Health & Safety training and reporting requirements

Requirements:

  • A graduate of a Civil, Mechanical or Construction Engineering degree or technology diploma program is preferred
  • Post-Secondary education (undergraduate/graduate degree) is preferred
  • 10+ years Commercial General Construction and site management experience
  • Experience with high-end commercial interior retrofits both small and large scale
  • Valid driver’s license
  • Current CPR and First Aid Certification
  • Proficient in computers including MS Office and ERP systems
  • Maintain a safe and healthy work environment through enforcement of safety legislation
  • A solid understanding of all construction trades and techniques
  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics and field drawings
  • Track record of meeting goals and performance objectives, increasing operational efficiencies and achieving outstanding customer satisfaction
  • Excellent organizational, communication and collaboration skills
  • Able to nurture and build effective professional relationships with trades, building operators, security, clients, staff and industry network
  • Detailed documentation and manuals and efficient project closure
  • Excellent analytical and responsive problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Ability to make timely and rational decisions under pressure
