Job title: Software Developer Senior Specialist
Job description: Designs, develops, modifies, adapts and implements solutions to information technology needs through new and existing applications, systems architecture and applications infrastructure.
Reviews system requirements and business processes; codes, tests, debugs and implements software solutions.
Your role and responsibilities
As a Senior Software Engineer, you will work within a cross functional team with a devops mindset to deliver large, complex and distributed systems with high availability to large clearing houses around the globe.
It is a new team so you will be part of developing the team with the right people. You will guide them and coach them to become better developers and make sure the team delivers great quality software.
Key responsibilities
- Work with the team to build new features & functionality in an agile way
- Responsible for the architecture and code quality for the product area that the team is responsible for.
- Perform code and design reviews with the team to improve the quality
- Coach other developers in the team to make sure the team continuously improve
- Work together with architects and delivery leads for other product teams to make sure all components work together in a great way
- Build automated tests to ensure great quality in the product
- Ensure the performance and reliability of the system
- Ensure service operability by implementing proper security, monitoring and alerting based on the Nasdaq Operating Environment
- We have the mentality that if you build it, you own it. This means that you will participate in problem solving if incidents occur
- Update and create needed documentation
- Aware of technology trends and decide which frameworks/technologies should be part of the solution
- Participate in technology discussions with clients
Requirements
- You are a multi-skilled, solution-oriented team player with a positive can-do attitude. You are capable of working cross-functionally and internationally in a fast changing environment. In our work things can change fast, so you are also flexible to changes in priorities.
- You have a long and strong experience from Java development
- Experience using CI/CD
- Excellent communication skills
- Coaching mentality
- Experience working in agile teams either using Scrum or Kanban
Nice to have
- Experience in deploying systems both in the cloud and on prem
- Experience working as a scrum master
- Experience with the TRADExpress platform
- Experience from the clearing domain, trading domain or the financial market
- Education Required: Degree qualified in a discipline related to Computer Science, Information Systems, or equivalent work experience.
Would typically have, or be studying, a second degree or masters’ in a more specialized area, such as financial markets, finance, or mathematics related. * Experience Required: At least 8 years
- Special Qualifications: Will hold further qualifications/certifications across a number of specialist disciplines relevant to role.
