Job description: Our client, a dynamic and growing software development company, is looking for a Solution Architect to complete its team. As a Solutions Architect – Applications, you will contribute, from a Movement perspective, to ensure an active monitoring of opportunities offered by new technologies or new business approaches and design solutions that meet business needs in projects that capitalize on the architecture targets and foundations. You ensure that they are consistent with the organization’s current and future needs and structure, and that the integration of new elements with the existing architecture (application software, products or services, etc.) is compatible.

You will play an influential role with business partners and solution architecture specialists in projects involving strategic, complex and innovative development and interventions from a Movement perspective. The nature of the files requires broad and deep expertise in several application, technology and/or business domains and coverage of application, data and infrastructure aspects.

You will make recommendations on the architecture of complete solutions and produce deliverables related to your field, within the framework of files or projects with high operational and conceptual complexity. These require a comprehensive and in-depth analysis and understanding of the business domain and the organization. There are many linkages. You are called upon to interact with a large number of stakeholders working in various fields of expertise. Mastering interpersonal relations becomes an essential skill.

You act as a specialist consultant in your field of expertise and act as a resource person and coach to authorities.

More specifically, you will define application solutions for the various IT systems used by the company shared services centre. You must have worked on the integration of solutions within cross-functional projects.

Main responsibilities:
Act as a specialist consultant for projects, mandates and development activities related to the architecture of application solutions whose scope and impact are important to the company and whose scope may be at the Group level
Advise and support specialists and business partners in the positioning, planning, development, implementation and follow-up of technological solutions related to the projects and initiatives under your responsibility, including strategic mandates
See to the development and evolution of policies, standards or technological solutions taking into account aspects related to applications, data and infrastructures in support of the projects and strategic initiatives of your unit
Identify and analyze significant issues and challenges. Establish diagnoses and make recommendations to the relevant authorities and committees
Represent your unit in decision-making bodies and committees
Represent the company position in agreements with external partners and organizations

Additional responsibilities:
Participate in several parallel projects or contributions of small to medium size
Collaborate with other solution architects (application, data, infrastructure and security) to reorient or optimize the development, testing or delivery strategy as needed
Manage quality and obtain approval of deliverables
Develop proposals and service offerings
Prioritize the implementation of the different aspects of the solution in an evolutionary approach
Discuss technological issues and make the right choices with your team
Participate in projects using multiple technologies and infrastructures (e.g. application development, security, telephony, Robotisation of processes, ticketing, BPMS, Info-nuagic, API-REST, …)

Other specifications:
Participate in multiple small to medium sized parallel projects or contributions
Collaborate with other Solution Architects (SA) to redirect or optimize the development, testing or delivery strategy as needed
Manage quality and approval of deliverables
Develop proposals and service offerings
Prioritize the implementation of different aspects of the solution in an evolutionary approach
Comfortable discussing technology issues and making the right choices with your team
Experience in complex web/transactional and Central MVS application development solution architecture
Must be comfortable participating in projects using multiple technologies and infrastructures

Desired Profile :
– Bachelor’s degree in an appropriate discipline
– A minimum of six years of relevant experience
– Experience in complex web/transactional application development solution architecture and Central MVS
– Proficiency in English at an advanced intermediate level (an asset).
