The Specialist, IT Infrastructure will install, maintain, upgrade, and continuously improve the site’s operating environment, ensuring the ongoing reliability, performance and security of the infrastructure. This includes monitoring and upkeeping the operating environments; responding to incidents & problems, planning for growth, deployment of new technologies as well as design, install, configure, maintain and perform testing of PC/server operating systems, networks, and related utilities and hardware.

Performs tasks such as, but not limited to, the following:

  • Provide technical support and perform maintenance
  • Troubleshooting problems as reported by users, supporting Web access and telephony services, and the acquisition, replacement and decommissioning of related equipment, software and services.
  • Coordinates security team with storage admins team, OS admins team, cloud team, apps delivery team – e.g. OS patching and impact on security technologies
  • Perform service monitoring and reporting, with a focus on risk management and compliance
  • Provide support for all Thales encryption products.
  • Work together with various Stakeholders, Enterprise Architecture, IT Security and Technical Support teams to ensure overall customer satisfaction.
  • Prepare workflows, answers to requests for Information encryption and project requests
  • Study customer operation to understand their business direction and application requirements in order to help them define their technical needs and recommend solutions that meet those needs utilizing Thales encryption products.
  • Provide technical support, consultation and training on Thales encryption products and capabilities to Stakeholders, End-Users and other departments.
  • Partner with Enterprise Architecture, IT Security and Infrastructure teams to identify, evaluate, and make technical recommendations regarding strategic product enhancements based on market initiatives, new technology, partnerships or customer requirements.
  • Explore new solutions, enhancements and opportunities for continuous improvement, projects and more
  • Perform the acquisition, provisioning and decommissioning of related equipment, software and services
  • Lead projects and change management initiatives

Knowledge/Skills/Competencies:

  • Strong customer service orientation, with the ability to prioritize and effectively manage time spent on each customer
  • Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem solving skills
  • Good communication (both oral and written) and documentation skills
  • Leadership and teamwork skills
  • Ability to plan projects and tasks
  • In-depth knowledge of the Windows OS (server and client) and the desktop operating environment. Linux and other mainstream OS knowledge will be helpful
  • Fundamental knowledge of networking concepts
  • Strong understanding and working with different storage technologies, including SAN, NAS, SSD, HD, NFS, CIFS, SMB, flash storage arrays
  • Strong knowledge of infrastructure service management & diagnostic tools and processes
  • Strong knowledge of end-point security management tools and processes
  • Knowledge of directory technologies such as Active Directory or LDAP will be an asset
  • Strong understanding the foundation concepts of cryptography
  • Knowledge of encryption (Include, symmetric encryption algorithms AES-CBC/CFB/CTR/GCM, DES, 3DES, asymmetric encryption algorithms RSA, ECC, DSA, Hash algorithms, SSL) solutions and technology available with different on premise as well as cloud storage
  • Experience with Thales encryption products will be an asset
  • Good experience on Public Key Infrastructure and its deployment. Familiarity with PKI and digital certification
  • Good experience with Key Management Solutions (KMS). Familiarity with Key Management Interoperability protocol (KMIP) will be an asset
  • Working knowledge with major cloud service provider platforms (e.g. Amazon Web Services, Azure Cloud, Google Cloud platform, RackSpace Cloud/Hosting Services etc.) and cloud enablement technology platforms (e.g., VMWare, Openstack, etc.)
  • Experience with native cloud (AWS, Azure) key protection solutions
  • Experience with Data Tokenization
  • Development skills in C/C++,Java, SOAP/XML, etc
  • Scripting skills in Perl, python, js, vbs, Java, .NET or REST API etc
  • Attention to detail

Physical Demands:

  • Duties of this position are performed in a normal office environment.
  • Duties may require extended periods of sitting and sustained visual concentration on a computer monitor or on numbers and other detailed data. Repetitive manual movements (e.g., data entry, using a computer mouse, using a calculator, etc.) are frequently required.

Experience:

  • 4 to 6 years of related experience in similar job roles

Education/certifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Information Service or related field or equivalent work experience
  • CISSP, CISM, or related security certifications
