Job summary
Amazon Web Services (AWS) is seeking a technical leader for our solution architecture team who will be responsible for the technology, strategy, and senior level relationships with strategic Independent Software Vendors (ISV). The Partner Solutions Architect will be responsible for creating, and driving, the technical strategy with our Canada-based ISV partners, taking the lead on go-to-market products built-on and/or integrated with AWS. With your partners, you will craft highly scalable, flexible, and resilient cloud architectures that provide solutions to solve customer business problems and accelerate the adoption of AWS services. In collaboration with your team at AWS, you will drive revenue growth through customer adoption of partner solutions on AWS. As a trusted partner advocate, you will have the opportunity to help shape and execute a strategy to build mindshare and broaden use of AWS. You will also need to be adept at interacting, communicating and partnering with other teams within AWS; such as services teams, marketing, and professional services, as well as representing your team to executive management.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
· Work with partners to deeply understand their business and technical needs.
· Develop solutions that make the best use of the AWS services
· Collaborate with AWS field sales, training, and support teams to ensure partner success.
· Exhibit Thought Leadership Evangelize AWS Services and ISV solutions that benefit customers. Share best practices through forums such as AWS blogs, whitepapers, reference architectures and public speaking events such as AWS Summit and AWS re:Invent.
· Act as technical liaison between partners and the service engineering teams, providing product improvement feedback to AWS developers and accelerating the adoption of new features in customer deployments.
· Provide one-to-few and one-to-many training sessions to transfer knowledge to builder considering or already using AWS.
· Capture and share best-practice knowledge among the AWS solutions architecture community.
· Build deep relationships with senior technical individuals within partners to enable them to be cloud advocates.
· Act as a technical liaison between partners, service engineering teams, and support.
· Be able to develop proof-of-concepts for solutions involving AWS services.

Key job responsibilities
Driving product integrations between partner products and AWS services
Proving thought leadership in the form of publishing blog posts, public speaking, white papers and reference architectures
A day in the life
Meeting partner product managers and engineering teams to talk about blockers or get feedback about ongoing build activities.
Building and testing a Proof of Concept (PoC) or create a code sample.
Writing a blog post or white paper.
Sending time consuming technical news and learning about the latest happenings in the market and software community.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
· Bachelor’s degree in computer science, engineering, mathematics, or related field of study OR 8+ years of professional or military work experience
· 8+ years within specific technology domain areas (e.g. software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics)
· 3+ years of design, implementation, or consulting experience in applications and infrastructures
· Experience communicating across technical and non-technical audiences, including executive level stakeholders or clients
· 5+ years of customer-facing experience, preferably interfacing with senior technical roles at large companies.
· BA/BS degree or equivalent experience.
· 5+ years of experience with Containers and Serverless technologies in devops practice.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
· Linux and Windows-based systems administration skills in a Cloud or Virtualized environment
· Experience building sophisticated and highly automated infrastructure
· Experience with DevSecOps concept in production environments with many nodes
· Familiarity with CloudFormation, Yaml and JSON
· Scripting skills in several popular languages, e.g., Powershell, Python, Bash, Ruby, Go etc.
· Knowledge of IP networking, firewall and VPN architectures, DNS, and service delivery through load balancing techniques
· Familiarity with monitoring tools like Nagios, New Relic, Datadog, etc.
· Experience with revision control source code repositories (Git, SVN, Bitbucket, Perforce)
· Management of continuous integration and deployment servers like Jenkins, Bamboo, Gitlab and TeamCity
· Experience with seamless/automated build scripts used for release management across all environments
· Experience with automated testing tools (ie. Selenium, JMeter, Blazemeter)
· Understanding and experience with code deployment (tagging)
· Active open source contributor
· Understanding of Service-Oriented Architecture (SOA and REST).
