Job description: Position Overview
U of C Continuing Education is currently seeking a Summer Student as a Program Assistant, Education.
The student performs a variety of duties in support of the successful delivery and administration of quality programs, conferences and events, the on-going daily operations of the team, and the University of Calgary Continuing Education (UCCE). Functions are carried out under the direction of the Associate Director, Continuing Education.
This role is partially funded by , eligible candidates must be:
- between 15 and 30 years of age
- either a Canadian citizen, permanent resident, or person to whom refugee protection has been conferred
- legally entitled to work in Canada
The Summer Student duties may include but are not limited to:
PROGRAM SUPPORT
- Provide support for the domestic programming teams for the successful delivery and administration of programs to corporate clients and open enrolment programs targeted to the public
- Research and compile best practices for programming processes, procedures and identify continuous improvement areas
- Assist Program Managers and Program Director with data input on program requirements, program policies and procedures, partnership and professional programs
- Perform a variety of duties in support of the successful delivery and administration of special projects, the on-going daily operations of the team
- Review Course and Program Materials including outlines, assessments and learning outcomes to ensure alignment to Bloom’s Taxonomy
MARKET RESEARCH and ANALYSIS
- Performing market analysis and research on competition
- Manage and update database and customer relationship management systems (CRM)
- Help organize marketing events
- Develop content for marketing campaigns, considering our clients¿ needs and their specific industries; Monitor social channels for trending news
- Create meta descriptions, build case studies, ensure alignment of course outline to website descriptions
- Perform research about our customers and market segments (corporate clients and open enrolment students). Provide recommendations for reaching these audiences including expanding reach in the digital space.
- Provide action plans where necessary to improve profitability, market share, client success ratings impacting revenue, costs and growth.
- Analyze social media metrics with a view to identifying key indicators and areas of improvement. Track and report upon Key Performance Indicators
- Gather, assess and maintain competitive analysis related to existing and emerging competitive products/services, market developments and industry trends
- Product Development; Research new certificates and courses; review Burning Glass data and refresh existing market research
ADMINISTRATIVE SUPPORT
- Records management in compliance with University policy (i.e. retention and destruction)
- Data input on program requirements, course and schedule details, program policies and procedures, partnership and professional accreditation details into the UCCE registration system
- Assist with the annual graduation ceremony
- Other administrative duties as required
