Hotel X is a new, luxury hospitality experience in partnership with Honeycomb Hospitality, Food Dudes and, Harlo Entertainment. These groups are industry leaders for some of Toronto’s favourite lifestyle and hospitality brands, including: Baro Toronto, Petty Cash, The Loft On King, Dasha Toronto, Wildflower, The Citizen, Rasa, Sara, Clay, Pantry, Blondies and more!

We are looking for highly-motivated and experienced Porters to join our exciting, fast-paced team! As a Barback/Support, you will be invaluable in making sure our venue is always sanitized and tidy.

Responsibilities

Upholds the highest of personal hygiene standards at all times
Remove trash and litter from the line and production areas of the kitchen, common areas, restrooms
Respects the team, equipment and food at all times
Is able to communicate clearly with all team members including front of house team
Is able to receive feedback from leadership and guests, professionally and calmly
Works in a fast-paced environment
Stock and organize cleaning and maintenance supply rooms and closets
Vacuum and sweep floors and carpets
Report hazards, incidents observed, and broken items to supervisors or management.
Dishwashing: All dishes, ranging from pots and pans to the cutlery, either hand washed or loaded into the dish machine
End of the Day Clean Up: Once a kitchen is closed, assists in cleaning to make sure that the kitchen is ready for the next day
Equipment Maintenance: All equipment is cleaned and maintained properly
Ensuring a Safe Environment: Cleanliness is directly related to a safe cooking environment by effectively cleaning all cookware and cooking surfaces well
Cleaning and sanitizing all meal preparation areas as well as kitchen walls, stoves, sinks, ovens, and grills
Sweeping and mopping all kitchen areas during service and at the end of shifts
Washing dirty dishes, cutting boards, utensils, and cooking equipment
Ensuring that food mixers, cookers, and other cooking equipment are in good working order
Assists in receiving and unpacking all deliveries
Emptying, re-lining, and washing garbage cans as required
Ensuring that refrigerators, freezers, and storage areas are clean and well-organized
During down time, assists with basic food preparation, which includes washing, peeling, and cutting ingredients as per the Chef’s instructions.
Required Skills
A fast learner with an interest in kitchen work
The ability to stand for long hours
Willingness to adhere to health and safety rules
Good organizational skills
The ability to work unsupervised in a busy environment
Patience and calm under pressure
