Your Opportunity

Stantec’s Geospatial Services Group has an immediate full-time opportunity for a Survey Pipeline Construction Lead for a pipeline project in Ontario . Applicant does not have to reside in Ontario. This is a one year, project specific position, with the possibility to extend.

Your Key Responsibilities

Supervises survey field crew, assigns work, ensures completion dates and budgets are met, and ensures consistent application of firm operating standards

Communication and reporting to client

Perform construction and as-build pipeline & facility surveys

Work with mainline and HDD contractors to progress work efficiently

Perform buried facility locating using an electromagnetic locator

A champion for and promote Stantec’s Health & Safety culture and awareness

Provide survey data, notes/sketches and supporting information in accordance with Data Quality Management System and Legislation

Effective communication with Project Manager as to progress updates, scope changes, HSSE reporting and other project impacts

Depending upon experience, this position may assist with field training, crew supervision, and/or provide crew coordination on larger projects

Qualifications

Your Capabilities and Credentials

Comprehensive knowledge of field survey methods and calculations for a pipeline construction project

Highly effective in assembling and leading teams

Ability to solve complex problems using sound professional judgment, creativity, and innovation

Proficient in performing boundary, topographic, and land title surveys and construction staking

Proficient using GPS, data collectors, total stations, robotics, and relevant survey equipment

Must have industry standard safety certificates and certifications

Certifications:

Standard First Aid

H2S Alive

WHMIS

CSTS 2020 (Construction Safety Training System)

CSO (Common Safety Orientation)

PCST (Pipeline Construction Training System)

Line Locating Certification

Valid Driver’s License

Please note this position is subject to drug and alcohol testing

Education and Experience

Technical degree/diploma/certificate or equivalent in related field experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. Minimum of 7 years of experience

Position will primarily be field work and will require travel for extended periods
