Kiewit Infrastructure Engineering has an immediate opening for a dynamic Systems Assurance Engineer for our growing Rail Transit System Engineering Group based in Ottawa, Ontario. You will be part of our rapidly growing Infrastructure Design Department, which includes structural, geotechnical, civil, drainage, roadway and materials disciplines, is a multi-faceted and leading-edge division of Kiewit with best-in-class technical expertise focused on the design-build delivery of infrastructure projects.

This position is based out of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada

Responsibilities

The successful candidate will have many direct interactions with designers and sub-contractors. Working with:
o Designer/ Design Systems Integration
o QA/QC Engineers-Systems Assurance Engineers/ Coordinators-Construction team Testing &Commissioning team
o Subcontractors / Vendor she/she has the following responsibilities related to work packages delivery:
o Participates in the system assurance activities for Configuration and Requirement management.
o Liaise with the Designer, Vendors, Testing & Commissioning Teams

Within the Project Systems team, the System Assurance Junior Engineer will ensure information is coordinated efficiently & effectively with all project stakeholders. With the help of Systems Integration and Designers, the candidate will assist the System Assurance Manager to prepare and coordinate the production of
o Reviewing System Assurance deliverables for completeness and correctness under the supervision of the Senior Engineer
o Reviewing requirement capture and allocation for completeness and correctness under the supervision of the Senior Engineer
o Reviewing detailed design issued by the Designer or Sub-contractors
o Takes part in internal Task Force meetings

The position requires Systems Technical Competencies, good communication & presentation skills (in English) and able to work in multi-disciplined and culturally diverse background environments.

Requirements Management
Supervision of the project related requirements-
o Responsibility for import of all the Design and Test & Commissioning requirements compliance evidence into DOORS
o Review of the validation evidence of the project requirements for compliance with contractual requirements.
o Coordinate with all Project Disciplines and Designer either for the requirements to be exported to other entities or for requirements allocated to Systems coming from other entities System Assurance.
Systems Assurance
o Verification of the Demonstration of compliance with the contractual RAM requirements applicable to the Systems.
o Responsibility for the import and coordination Subcontractor hazard log and mitigation measures in the DOORS requirements tools under the supervision of the Senior Engineer
Site
o Participation Testing & Commissioning RAM demonstration documentation and final Safety Case review.

Qualifications

Bachelor or Master’s in Engineering: With 5 + years of experience with rail systems experience. Basic Knowledge in Systems Assurance i.e., Requirement management / RAM/ Safety Security Ability in Technical coordination and interface management.
