Talent Acquisition Specialist, Technology
The LCBO is looking for a full-cycle Talent Acquisition Specialist who will partner directly with managers supporting the hiring needs within the Information Technology and Corporate department. Reporting to our Manager, Talent Acquisition, this individual will implement the recruitment strategy, determine the right selection criteria and process for our high-volume hiring needs in various divisions division.
Using a consultative approach, you will work with our leaders to understand their business and hiring needs, while guiding them through LCBO’s end-to-end recruitment process. About the Role
- Establish and foster strong relationships with hiring managers to understand hiring requirements and recognize any gaps in the process.
- Lead intake sessions to create and implement recruitment strategies which meet the business needs.
- Identify and utilize cost effective, efficient, proactive, and innovative sourcing solutions to attract top talent, with a focus on the departments core functions.
- Build job postings and interview questions that reflect each position’s requirements.
- Conduct targeted searches to source and identify passive candidates.
- Assess candidate information, skills and proven experience using our Applicant Tracking System (Workday).
- Plan interview and selection procedures, including the use of interview guides.
- Develop questions for interviews that identify candidates with technical expertise who exemplify the LCBO’s competencies and values.
- Organize and attend job fairs and recruitment events.
- Contribute to the continuous improvement of recruitment practices and resources by supporting projects and initiatives.
- Ensure recruitment activity is updated on a regular basis in applicant tracking system, reporting on hiring metrics, trends, successes and challenges.
- Reinforce the LCBO’s dedication to providing fair and equitable recruitment and selection practices and support compliance with all hiring policies, practices, and the LCBO’s values.
About You
- Post-secondary education in HR, business, or related experience.
- 2-3 years of recruitment experience supporting various business units.
- Strong understanding of and experience with effective sourcing, recruitment techniques and methods; effective at identifying and sourcing passive candidates, and strong in direct sourcing.
- Adept at effectively managing a portfolio of high-volume vacancies.
- Demonstrate positive attitude and passion for recruitment.
- Intellectual curiosity and critical thinking skills, with the ability to quickly learn complex business functions.
- Experience working with an applicant tracking system (ATS) and proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Take a consultative approach, build strong collaborative relationships with diverse personalities and work styles, influence key stakeholders, and gain consensus to achieve goals.
- Superior written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft engaging job postings, concisely document recommendations, and ask questions in a tactful and diplomatic way
- Skilled in managing expectations with both candidates and hiring managers.
- Enjoy taking initiative; highly self-directed and solution-oriented, with a high sense of urgency to deliver results and meet business deadlines.
- Adaptable and are always looking for new, innovative ways to work.
- Proficient at prioritizing work, with excellent organizational skills and meticulous attention to detail.
- Passion for learning, growing, and developing, and sharing knowledge.
