The Disability Claims Management IT Operational Team within Application Development specializes in supporting the day-to-day operations of Case Management Systems; to include FINEOS, WITS, DCMS, and EWOC.

Key Responsibilities:
The team lead is responsible for supervising activities of all application development personnel for the Operational support of assigned areas in Disability Claims Management. The main duties are to ensure the appropriate planning and management of the personnel, provide HR administration duties for the operational team as well as personnel assigned to projects. In conjunction with other Team Leads assess the progress and effectiveness of the application development processes, identifying areas of vulnerability and process improvements as necessary. The Team Lead will oversee several projects / releases and manage the priorities in collaboration with the business.
- Provide people management including coaching, mentoring, objective setting, employee performance reviews, career development, employee engagement, on-boarding and training.
- Work directly with the business to review and prioritize work items and support resolution of issues and concerns.
- Participate in project risk/prioritization discussions, as well as in requirements gathering and/or reviews and obtain clarification of requirements where necessary.
- Advise, persuade &/or negotiate on problems or situations of a simple to complex nature.
- Monitor and ensure compliance to service levels, processes, and standards
- Investigate defects, analyze, and resolve configuration issues in a timely manner, escalating to vendor when necessary.

- Liaise with internal and external partners and customers to support resolution of issues and concerns.
- Participate in the hiring process; selecting appropriate candidates and participating in interviews; Scheduling and resourcing for all work items.

- Plan and coordinate simple to complex projects and activities with team members and any stakeholders both internal to Medavie Blue Cross and external clients or software vendors.

Qualifications:
Education: University Degree or College Diploma in Computer Science or similar program
Work Experience: The ideal candidate will have 7+ years’ experience developing and supporting systems including analysis and 2-3 years of experience in leadership and guidance of a team in an IT Environment.
Computer Skills: Experience in all Microsoft Office Suite programs; ability to navigate between various applications; strong keyboarding skills and the ability to enter data with speed and precision.
Language: Proficiency in English is required (written & spoken). French would be an asset.
