Position Overview:
The Territory Manager – Long Term Care (TM-LTC) is a critical sales role within ARDx Canada. The TM-LTC will have responsibility for developing and expanding long-term care business through the consulting banners, pharmacy and LTC home channels. LTC pharmacy and LTC home customers include, but are not limited to Medical Pharmacies, Medi-Systems, Silver Fox Pharmacy, ExtendiCare, Revera Health, Versa Care,etc.). The TM-LTC is responsible for partnering with identified key customers to achieve established sales, margin and market share goals. The position reports to the National Sales Manager. The TM-LTC works closely with indirect staff in Contracts, Customer Service, Quality, Legal, Marketing and Field Sales.
Responsible for promoting, selling and managing the complete line of Abbott Rapid Diagnostics Infectious disease, Cardiometabolic, Toxicology products and a broad portfolio of third-party products by building Long Term Care contacts including(but not limited to) contacting providers, specialists, physicians, pharmacies and/or distributors.
The TM LTC candidate is responsible for achieving company defined sales goals and is responsible for implementing the company’s sales and marketing strategy; identifying, and qualifying leads while consistently closing business to meet or exceed their sales quota and goals. Qualified candidates will be required to perform routine administrative tasks including CRM maintenance, expense reporting etc. As employee development is essential, responsibilities and job function may expand and evolve proportionate to the employer’s needs.
Responsibilities:
Manage territory as a business to maximize sales by analyzing market dynamics and utilizing available information to develop, plan, track and adjust appropriately to meet short and long-term goals
Establish working relationships with consulting LTC pharmacies and LTC operators and homes
Partner with customers to execute strategically aligned programs to drive profitable growth
Grow sales and share of key products by effectively educating and convince LTC banners/pharmacies accounts to focus on Abbott ID products.
Execute target patient start programs (including clinic days / other events) to accelerate patient uptake.
Build territory sales strategic plan and utilize selling model – to include components of: pre call planning, opening, positioning statement, probing, needs assessment, objection handling, closing and post call analysis.
Identify and act on new opportunities to grow sales
Work in close collaboration other ARDx and marketing team members to grow share
Pursue a continuous program for self-development to educate self on the disease state, new products (Abbott Cardiometabolic), new tools, and the changing business environment to help build sales and manage the business
Communicate sales activity, follow-up, and report in a clear, concise and consistent manner, while meeting key administrative and project deadlines
Maintain all assigned company equipment, records and supplies in accordance with company policy for efficient operations
Required Skills & Abilities:
Thorough knowledge of Healthcare Diagnostics, Long Term Care sector, POC market and microbiology
Demonstrated territory management skills
Positive attitude with a self-driven sense of urgency
Creative thinking and problem-solving skills
Ability to work independently under pressure
Excellent presentation and product demonstration skills
Good working skills using Windows Microsoft Office and other relevant sales software such as Salesforce.com
Education and Required Experience:
Bachelor of Science degree in relevant field: microbiology, infectious disease
Minimum of 5 years’ experience in medical diagnostics sales (Long Term Care preferred),
Valid driver’s license and clean driving record,
Travel is required to perform job and will involve overnight travel. Travel is estimated as 40%.
The territory covers Ontario.
