In this role, the VP/GM Pharmacy Technology Systems will oversee the Sales, Product, and Operations of the McKesson Canada pharmacy technology solutions. These solutions include the pharmacy dispensary system (PharmaClik Rx/Propel Rx/ Nexxsys), POS solutions (PharmaClik POS and Propel POS), and claims switching solutions (PharmaClik Claims/RelayHealthHub),

Responsibilities:

Maintain and grow the profitability and Market Share of the Pharmacy Technology Solutions business in Canada

Responsible for the development of a strategy and technological roadmap for the Pharmacy Technology Solutions of McKesson Canada. The strategy & roadmap must consider: the current and future business requirements of the market; competitive alternatives; as well as consider new technologies which may create a competitive advantage for the customer base

Works with McKesson Canada senior leadership to align products and services which will enhance McKesson Canada’s competitive position and that of its customers

Manages the planning and monitoring of financial, customer and operational metrics

Owns the strategy of the business unit considering market needs/trends and competitive trends

Develops relationship with senior executives of key customers and suppliers. These key relationships and agreements should provide new value-added service or solutions to deliver a competitive advantage for McKesson Canada and its customers

Ensures the proper development and growth of the talent

Understands all aspects of technology architectures include the data, infrastructure, application, and network aspects of the technology. The technology architecture must be scalable, adaptable and secure. Understands the strategic value of the various components of the architecture

Ensures appropriate governance, processes, tools, and metrics are in place to ensure effective and efficient technology environment

Ensures appropriate compliance to corporate and government regulations

Develops budgets that accurately reflect the ongoing revenue and cost of doing business as well as the additional costs of implementing any projects or changes. Monitors, adjusts and takes corrective action as necessary to ensure that budget targets are met

Approves requisitions, expenses and other financial transactions within his/her authority; protects income and assets of the company against loss and waste

Responsible for setting and attaining the profitability targets for the Pharmacy Systems business unit

Qualifications:

Entrepreneurial skills (lead a business)

Relevant academic discipline background; Technology/Business/Marketing

10 + years experience with comprehensive business knowledge and experience

Ability to deliver results

Superior executive presence and communication skills

Provide the right level of oversight, rigor, and hands on when required

Ability to develop talent Ability to lead and manage a team Demonstrated knowledge of strategic planning and thinking

Great interpersonal skills Ability to build relationships at the executive level Superior communication skills both verbal and written

Ability to multitask in a fast paced, high volume, complex matrix organization

Developed financial and analytical skills. Good understanding of technology and future trends (e.g. e-health) is an asset

Knowledge of independent pharmacy market and solution selling is an asset
