WHAT IS THE OPPORTUNITY?

The Digital Channels Web Content team is in search of a front-end web developer who will be responsible for development for internal / external websites and web applications across the organization. In this role, you will be working on new front-end builds for various web projects, supporting the content management system and maintaining web content requests day-to-day. The role will coordinate, develop, manage communication, and execute activities to ensure objectives are accomplished.

WHAT WILL YOU DO?

  • Monitor and maintain web content day-to-day.
  • Develop and execute on web projects such as new web pages or web components.
  • Continuously identify potential issues, conflicts, and risks. Analyze, mitigate and escalate where appropriate.
  • Collaborate and contribute on cross-functional enterprise initiatives and manage the effective implementation of assigned deliverables.
  • Establish strong working relationships across business units and platforms to build influence and impact with key business partners. Collaborate with groups to define and achieve deliverables and ensure initiatives are effectively integrated into RBC procedures and processes.
  • Contribute to ongoing administrative program activities as required.

WHAT DO YOU NEED TO SUCCEED?

Must have:

  • Undergraduate degree in computer science and/or web development.
  • Strong knowledge of HTML, CSS, JavaScript – AJAX, JSON, JQuery
  • Experience working with a CMS, good knowledge of web and coding standards.
  • Demonstrated ability in written and oral communication skills along with strong presentation skills. Ability to determine the information and communication needs of the stakeholders and tasks.
  • Strong organizational, task management and time management capabilities.
  • An understanding of technology and/or the financial services industry.
  • Deadline-driven and results-oriented; able to meet consistently high quality standards while handling a variety of tasks and deadlines simultaneously.

Nice-to-have:

  • Visual / UX design skills an asset, principles of design for web.
  • Working knowledge of .Net and or Node.js, other front-end development frameworks – Knockout, React, Angular an asset.
  • Experience with OpenText CMS
  • Understand requirements and recommend solutions.
  • Knowledge of GIT & build processes.
  • Strategic thinker with excellent interpersonal skills to work across functions and businesses
