Position Summary:

McGill-Queen’s University Press is one of Canada’s largest scholarly, peer-reviewed presses, publishing more than 150 titles per year, including monographs, trade, and course adoption titles. Our sales are split equally between Canada and international markets. MQUP seeks an energetic, achievement-oriented Web Marketing and Data Administrator to join our Marketing team based in Montreal.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Be responsible for the maintenance of MQUP’s website and development of MQUP’s online presence, creating and posting approved content
  • Ensure that content is consistent with MQUP’s overall branding and publishing strategies
  • Keep current with web technology and online marketing and sales opportunities for both print and ebooks
  • Track and analysis of web and social media communications
  • Ensure correct bibliographic metadata is supplied to our data partners and users
  • Oversee all aspects of ebook distribution including metadata and file distribution
  • Develop online marketing campaigns required for scholarly books of the highest quality, to raise the Press’ visibility and maximize revenues, and in support of the University’s overall mission and culture
  • Oversee content and functionality of the MQUP website.
  • Analysis and reporting of web and online marketing activities.
  • Oversee MQUP digital publishing program including metadata creation and ebook file delivery
  • Ensure accuracy and delivery of bibliographic metadata to data partners and users
  • Maintain good rapport with staff within the unit and the University community

Other Qualifying Skills And/Or Abilities:

  • Experience using online marketing and social media as reporting and engagement tool.
  • Working knowledge of content management systems and web design (Adobe Creative, WordPress).
  • Technical knowledge of web languages and tools preferred (HTML, MySQL, XML).
  • Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office applications with particular facility in Excel.
  • Excellent English language writing skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational skills.
  • Accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Bachelor’s degree is an asset.

Annual Salary: (MPEX Grade 02) $46,110.00 – $69,180.00
