Job title: Team Lead, Learning Administration
Job description: The City of Edmonton is looking for an individual who is passionate about Learning and Development and a natural leader, to join the City of Edmonton’s Learning Centre as Team Lead, Learning Administration.
The Team Lead, Learning Administration oversees the learning administration function and team. This team is responsible for a range of complex and specialized administrative functions including learning program and training support and working within a Learning Management System to manage and report on learning across the City.
This position reports to the Director of Organizational Development and Learning and works closely with the Learning Centre Team Leads and Consultants to deliver City-wide learning. The individual in this role would also work closely with training teams in other City departments to support department-specific, and respond to inquiries and questions from employees and learners.

Leadership
- Provides input into Section priority setting, goals, and progress reporting
- Sets direction for the Learning Administration Team
- Monitors individual and overall team progress and workload and provides ongoing coaching and feedback
- Ensures team members have set performance, and learning and growth goals
- Provides leadership and support to department training specialists on corporate standards, processes, and administration
Learning Programs Administration
- Ensures that effective administrative processes and plans are in place to support the management and delivery of corporate learning programs and courses
- Manages accounts payable and budget reconciliation and supports contract administration and management
- Supports the administration of the Section budget and expenditures including setting up contract requests in Ariba, overseeing accounts payable, and managing credit card expenses
- Produces, analyzes, and compiles complex program and course reports for leadership and program owners
- Responds to complex inquiries or requests from departments, leaders, and employees
- Works with the Learning Consultants to market learning programs and sessions
- Leads the administration of the City’s Long Service Recognition Program
- Oversees the management of training rooms with computer/audio-visual equipment, including proper OHS protocols are well noted and kept up to date
Learning Management System Management
- Provides end user support for the City’s Learning Management System (LMS)
- Works with Workforce Analytics and Reporting to resolve systemic and larger-scale LMS system issues
- Provides leadership and be the subject matter expert (SME) to business areas and other users of the LMS in the use and ongoing maintenance of the system
- Leads data integrity working groups to ensure that curricula and items in the LMS are set up properly in the system
Qualifications
- High School Diploma with emphasis on general office practices and administration
- Related certificate or diploma (e.g. Administrative Professional, Business Administration Certificate or Diploma) is an asset
- Minimum of five years of progressively responsible related experience with an emphasis on learning administration, supervision, and working with complex computer systems and data analysis and reporting
- Experience with Learning Management Systems and administration is required
- Proficient in Google Workspace Suite
- Experience in contract management, administration and accounts receivable/payable processes is required
- Demonstrated experience with interpreting data, summarizing and preparing reports
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Demonstrated problem solving skills
- Customer service skills and client focus
- Ability to interpret internal policies and procedures
- Ability to understand the impacts of the administration of programs to the overall effectiveness of learning programs in the City
- Ability to maintain strong working relationships across the Section, Branch, department, with training areas within departments, and employees at all levels

Up to 1 permanent, full-time position
Hours of Work: 33.75 hours per week, Monday – Friday
The weekly hours of work for this position are currently under review and may change at a future time. Any changes will be made in accordance with the City of Edmonton/Civic Service Union 52 collective agreement and the incumbent will be notified in advance.
Salary: $26.928 – $33.765 (Hourly); $47,440.400 – $59,485.490 (Annually)
