Job title: Food Room Clerk – Toxicology

Job description: Performs feed management and prepares daily enrichment given to animals according to Standard Operating Procedures (SOP) and Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).

MAJOR ELEMENTS OF RESPONSIBILITIES :

– Establish a varied feed distribution schedule for all ongoing studies;
– Provide food distribution and counter enrichment service to employees;
– Understand, adhere to and consistently apply procedures;
– Track inventory and receive and place various orders;
– Record computerized data and complete audit documentation;
– Work in a clean manner to avoid food contamination and perform bi-annual disinfections;
– Remove household waste and dispose of it in the appropriate containers;
– Participate in co-worker training;
– Minimize waste of used equipment and supplies;
– Maximize the use of all resources;
– Manage time effectively;
– Perform any other reasonable duties that may be required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT :

– Work consistently performed in a laboratory environment;
– Work with sharp tools requiring minimal attention and control.

KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS:

– High school diploma;
– Relevant work experience is an asset;
– Reading English is mandatory. Bilingualism is preferred;
– Excellent organizational, interpersonal and communication skills;
– Ability to work under time constraints and adapt to change;
– Flexibility to work a variety of schedules;
– Ability to work in a team environment;
– Working knowledge of computer applications related to the position.
