Choices for Youth Inc. (CFY) is a professional service, youth-focused, non-profit, charitable organization that creates spaces and conversations and operates programs and social enterprises to help vulnerable youth secure stable housing, employment, and education while improving health and family stability. With a focus on prevention, intervention, and support, we help youth and their families break cycles of poverty and homelessness and transition to healthy, stable, and independent lives. On their behalf, we are recruiting a Diretcor of Finance and Administration to be based in St. John’s, NL.
As part of a nationally recognized, innovative team, the Director will be on the leading edge of Choices for Youth work related to social enterprise, social finance, and social procurement in the fields of affordable housing, poverty reduction, and economic development. The Director of Finance and Administration is responsible for ensuring that the financial and administrative management of Choices for Youth is in accordance with policies, procedures, regulations, and generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP).
We seek a Chartered Professional who can see the big picture, understand the impact that Choices for Youth has on the community, and in turn the financial responsibility behind that impact. Success in this position requires an analytical, ethical, and strategic thinker who believes in strong leadership and teamwork. You bring life to financial statements, budgets, and all things numbers. You are a confident communicator who feels at ease talking around a board table.
A hands-on business and financial expert, you will ensure the organization has the right financial processes and internal controls required to keep pace with the demands of a growing business and thriving social enterprise. Fostering a collaborative and inclusive environment while working collaboratively across the organization, you will provide vision to help Choices for Youth achieve its strategic growth plans and you will consistently provide reliable financial advice, accurate analysis and good judgment while making sound recommendations upon which significant business decisions can be made.
