One of our major telecommunication clients is looking for a Agile Scrum Master (Change Management/ Digital transformation)

Length: 12 months contract with the high possibility of an extension

Location: Toronto, ON

DESCRIPTION:

As a Senior Scrum Master on the team, you’ll be responsible for facilitating the product development process for two agile teams who own and manage the authenticated self-serve experience for our business customers. Your key responsibilities will be enabling the agile teams to meet their sprint goals by helping them coordinate their inputs and outputs, leading agile ceremonies, aiding in the removal of any impediments and buffering them from any distracting influences. You will employ Agile and Lean methodologies to support the continuous improvement efforts of our teams, as well as share your expertise and experiences with the broader Agile community.

RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDES:

· Facilitate agile ceremonies (meetings, standups, sprint planning, retros)

· Facilitate troubleshooting meetings between cross functional teams

· Facilitate coordination for multi-team projects

· Assess current state of agile practices and guide the team on their agile journey

· Work across the Digital and organizational teams to enable agile work styles

· Facilitate negotiation of timelines between the product owner and team members and track the team’s delivery (performance)

· Set up a workflow process and ensure workflow and tools are provided for pre-development work (design, UX, content, accessibility and SEO)

· Configure the team’s Confluence space and encourage regular updates

· Set up and maintain tools (configure and update Zapier, JIRA etc.)

· Report on team performance metrics

· Constantly look for ways to optimize team delivery flow and work with the team on implementing experiments of new ways of working

QUALIFICATIONS:

· Minimum 3-5 years of experience as Scrum Master working with Scrum, Kanban and ScrumBan who’s confident with adapting their approach to the situation

· Highly skilled at agile software development methodologies, values and practices

· Able to implement and coach the team on the meaning and value of lean metrics such as cycle time, lead time, and throughput.

· Ability to champion change and coach the team to reach their highest potential

· Creative, inventive and innovative at taking on complex challenges

· Adaptable facilitation skills, tailoring approach as needed to conduct effective working sessions that inspire collaborative problem solving

· Finds and applies new and leading agile tools and techniques

· Effectively works through conflict and de-escalates difficult situations by diplomatically navigating complex and controversial discussion

MUST HAVE SKILLS:

· 4-5+ years of experience as a Scrum Master, preferably in a large organization

· Strong skillset in managing flow, using Agile Metrics, Scrum and Agile methods/techniques

· Experience in change management, digital transformation, implementing and improving process

NICE TO HAVE SKILLS:

· Experience in conflict resolution and facilitating problem solving within a team

· Experience with working with teams that are new to Agile and Scrum

· Experience using liberating structures

GREAT-TO-HAVES:

· Acts as an agile champion and subject matter expert to ensure the team lives the agile values and practices

· Actively identifies and supports team members and leaders in removing impediments for the benefit of the organization as a whole

· Develops close working relationships with digital leadership team

· Viewed as a leader and mentor

· Actively identifies and supports team members and leaders in removing impediments and resolving highly complex problems across the portfolio for the benefit of the organization as a whole?

· Certified Scrum Master (CSM),

Professional Scrum Master (PSM) or PMI Agile Certified Practitioner (PMI-ACP) certification
