Your role

The General Television division sets the editorial direction for the programming schedule with a view to delivering quality content that informs, enlightens and entertains Radio-Canada’s target audience. It devises and delivers the content creation, development and planning strategy across multiple platforms (radio, television, web and digital services), which includes planning, organizing and implementing schedule and broadcast management.

In this role, you coordinate the work under your responsibility, act as a key front-line contact for General Television leadership and provide the entire team with coordination and support on key divisional matters.

Key responsibilities:

  • Coordinate with producers for the production of trailers, playlists and all programming schedules.
  • Support the leadership team in its dealings with producers for international productions.
  • Review licensing reporting requirements (credits, rights, obligations) and ensure that broadcast schedules are reconciled and entered in the CRTC logs.
  • Attend 360 programming meetings focused on determining the annual allocation of broadcasting time across all platforms with the stakeholders involved.
  • Attend your division’s leadership team meetings.
  • Regularly monitor coordination and communication between the leadership team and other divisions to promote the sharing of information and practices.
  • Actively contribute to continuous improvement and other initiatives led by General Television management.
  • Coordinate with other leadership team executive assistants.
  • Act as the right hand of the General Manager. Provide the leadership team with first-level administrative, logistical, financial and operational support.
  • Be discreet when dealing with sensitive and confidential matters as well as correspondence.
  • Manage the leadership team’s calendars and email correspondence based on priorities.
  • Coordinate international travel and liaise with partner institutions.
  • Manage the General Television leadership team’s social media accounts.

Qualifications

We are looking for a candidate with the following:

  • Community college diploma in administration (an equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered).
  • At least 10 years’ experience in executive support or in a job with a similar level of responsibilities.
  • Experience in the television industry and media scheduling, as well as an understanding of CRTC conditions of license, a major asset.
  • Ability to be autonomous, proactive, efficient, dynamic and versatile.
  • Excellent work planning, coordination and organization skills.
  • Ability to manage priorities and handle multiple competing requests, sometimes under pressure.
  • Ability to be thorough and quickly find solutions.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of employees.
  • Focus on client service excellence, and ability to handle sensitive and confidential information discreetly.
  • Advanced level of bilingualism (English and French).
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace (Gmail, Calendar, Drive) and good knowledge of SAP, TEMS and Livelink is an asset.
