Job description: Mercanti Specialty Foods, a division of Carmen’s Group Inc., is looking for a passionate and driven individual as our next Food Safety Quality Assurance Supervisor!
Our thriving division, specializing in premium lasagna, is looking for talented team members to set us up for success as we start our next big growth adventure taking our products across Canada!
YOU WILL HAVE THE OPPORTUNITY TO:
- Create and update Standard Operating Procedures for all QA processes
- Create and maintain inspection, testing, evaluation and record keeping system
- Instruct new team members on proper protocols and SOPs
- Establish, implement and direct quality control and food safety efforts to quality standards
- Optimization of raw material control and use within recipes
- Oversee CFIA systems, validating testing and assurance compliance
- Document quality information and prepare reports and/or manuals
- Review production and quality reports on a weekly basis, identifying any quality deviation
- Follow up on corrective action to correct deviations as they occur
- Support R&D on sensory evaluation and product testing
- Participate on projects for continuous improvement
- Set up quality assurance systems for proper certification
YOU HAVE:
- 2 -3 years experience in the food manufacturing industry
- Experience in Food Safety and Quality Control within a CFIA environment
- Post secondary education in a related field is considered an asset
