Job title: Associate, Retirement Administration – GBS
Job description: As the Associate, Retirement Administration, you will be responsible for managing all day-to-day operational aspects for defined benefit, defined contribution, and excess pension plans for U.S. & Canadian employees, inpats, expats, & TCN’s, as well as retirees and survivors. This role manages the vendor relationships with all vendors for defined benefit pension, and 401K savings plans, for U.S. & Canada, serves as a mediator between participants (employees, retirees, beneficiaries), internal departments (Payroll, Treasury), and the vendor. You will also support Retirement Benefit processes, and implementation of new/updated programs, along with adhering to IRS regulations.

HERE’S A TASTE OF WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING
Benefits Administration: You are responsible for the administration of US and Canada Retirement defined benefit and defined contribution plans. This includes resolution of escalated issues, execution of the annual pension validation process, funding requests for NQ DC plans, FICA calculations for NQ DB payments (must understand the formula to validate the accuracy of calculation), completion of all year-end activities, facilitation of Discretionary Employer Contribution projections and annual payout, all while ensuring plan compliance.
Vendor Management: You own the working relationship with multiple vendors which includes working with the Kellogg Centers of Excellence (COE) on vendor agreements, second-level invoice validations, and working with the vendor account executives to resolve issues outside of normal processes including vendor system errors, discrepancies, and complaints.
Auditing and Testing: You are responsible to facilitate and complete all audit activities (i.e., S & I Canada, quarterly pensionable hours, ongoing retirement eligibility) to include data corrections from audit findings. You own and manage regulatory and legal requirement activities (e.g. Form 5500, Proxy filing, government reporting). You also participate in non-discrimination testing.
Business Partnering: Supporting the production and delivery of communications such as Summary Plan Descriptions, Summary Annual Reports, Summary of Material Modifications, and others. Partnering with the COE on all things vendor and plan-related.
YOUR RECIPE FOR SUCCESS
Required:
- Associate Degree in Human Resources, Finance, Business or related field
- Extensive experience in day-to-day Retirement Benefits Administration, including defined benefit and defined contribution plans.
- Do you have knowledge of the U.S. tax code, and understand how FICA tax is calculated? Great, we want you!
- Advanced Excel (ability to use Pivot Tables, V-look ups, and create Macros)
Bonus Points:
- Bachelor’s Degree or international equivalent in Human Resources, Finance, Business, or a related field.
- Experience at a large multi-national Consumer Packaged Goods (CPG) Company.
- Professional Benefits related designation/certification
