Mandate

Reporting to the Director, I&CB Strategy & Business Management, this diverse role is responsible for a high level of analytical and operational support focused around client and sales management, operational efficiency and corporate initiatives for the Strategy and Business Managers in Global I&CB, Client Stakeholder Team.

The Associate will have responsibility for business management support, with a particular focus on financial and business analysis, sales management reporting, presentation and document preparation, and operational support. This role includes accountabilities for supporting, anticipating and managing both short and long term objectives/outcomes and maintaining a current understanding of performance objectives specific to sales and client management.

The role requires an individual who has strong analytical capabilities, experience working with databases and client relationship management (CRM) systems, solid presentation writing skills, is well organized with good attention to detail, excels in a team environment, is an effective communicator and shows a willingness to acquire new skills and industry knowledge. The candidate must possess the highest level of integrity and be very adept in managing matters and information that are both highly sensitive and confidential.

Knowledge and Skills

Undergraduate or Professional degree with a focus on Business, Finance, Economics is desirable

Minimum of 3-5 years of relevant business support or business analysis experience, preferably in Capital Markets or Financial Services

Strong analytical and mathematical capabilities

High proficiency in MS Office products (excel, word, PowerPoint)

Familiarity with and experience using CRM systems and functionality

Familiarity with various market data software including Bloomberg, Dealogic and Factset is an asset

Highly developed written and oral communication skills

Strong interpersonal skills working in a team environment collaboratively with colleagues at all levels within the organization

Ability to work independently in a fast paced, dynamic environment

Proven ability in managing multiple priorities and deadlines

Excellent attention to detail and ability to learn and adapt quickly

Business Planning / Analytics / Reporting = 70%

Business Delivery / Operational Support / Ad hoc = 30%

Key Accountabilities

Business Planning / Analytics / Modelling

Supports the development and execution of strategic initiatives in collaboration with internal and external stakeholders.

Research and analyze financial and operating information relating to the line of business, its business partners and corporate support areas

Maintain and review key performance metrics such as revenue, expenses, future pipeline, ROE, cross-selling, market position, lead roles, activities, industry and market data to assess performance, opportunities and challenges and to provide insights and recommendations

Prepare and analyze competitive data, league tables, fee and market share, and other external data as required for the industry sectors

Facilitate the development of critical reports from our CRM and other sources of information to drive better understanding of both individual RM performance as well as business performance

Integrate information from multiple sources to enable more efficient processes, enhanced analysis and/or streamlined reporting.

LOB Corporate Relationship Management Support including facilitating and enhancing corporate support of the LOB across all partnerships

Lead and/or assist in the execution of key deliverables around technology, CRM and process automation

Build strong relationships and partnerships with colleagues and individuals across I&CB and Capital Markets with whom this role collaborates

Operational Support / Ad Hoc

Work in partnership with the Directors and other colleagues from the Strategy & Business Management team to deliver against business presentations and updates, key initiatives and ad hoc requests
