This role sits within LBC Tech, a subsidiary of Laurentian Bank Financial Group.

The Credit underwriting officer is responsible for all activities when a deal is submitted for review at Underwriting & relation with Mortgage broker / Advisor.

Key responsibilities include:
ºContribute to the effective processing of mortgage applications submitted from origination channel partners
ºAssembling, analyzing and ensuring receipt of all relevant information and documentation
ºPrioritization of each file according to policies with high effectiveness
ºProcessing documents in the company’s workflow system
ºFollowing up with mortgage brokers & advisors for missing document

The role also involves responding to inquiries from internal and external clients and providing a consistent level of customer service in accordance with LBC service level standards, policies, and procedures.
Responsibilities
ºPreprocessing incoming documents in the company’s system ensuring documents are attached to the correct mortgage file and labelled correctly
ºEntering mortgage data into Excel and other internal systems, generating client documents.
ºManaging activity pipeline in priority order & with high effectiveness
ºResponding to inquiries from various internal and external clients and ensuring that the highest level of customer service is delivered
ºEnsuring daily work is completed and addressing any outstanding issues with manager.
ºSubmitting recommendations to improve work processes to manager
ºKeeping up to date on the Bank’s policies, programs, procedures
ºParticipating in special projects and carrying out any other similar or general tasks at the request of their manager or that may be required by their function
Qualifications
ºPost-secondary degree or diploma
º2 to 3 years of related work experience related to administration in a credit environment with a bank or trust company
ºFamiliarity with mortgage underwriting / mortgage lending practices is required
ºStrong verbal and written communication skills are required in order to manage relationships with internal and external parties including mortgage brokers and third party service providers
ºDetail-oriented and focused on accuracy
ºExcellent organizational and time management skills
ºAbility to thrive in a fast paced, high volume environment
ºAbility to multi-task, to prioritize workflow, and meet deadlines
ºExcellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate information effectively.
ºMust possess intermediate to advanced skills in MS Excel. Computer literacy in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and Outlook a must
ºBilingual (French/English) verbal and written communication skills are an asset.
