Reporting to the Director, Medical Affairs Administration, the Business Analyst participates in the design, development, implementation and operation of financial administration and/or contract or program information management processes to effectively support BC Cancer medical leadership.
What you’ll do
- Develop, implement and maintain tools to gather information, prepare documentation, manage day-to-day business processes, and report on any of the following: provider funding, compensation and professional expenses administration, clinical services and administrative services contract and salary agreement documentation and administration; contract, credentialing and policy compliance; service reporting; Special Education Research Program; and others as required.
- Prepare yearly budgeting and allocation documentation, forecast annual expenditure plan utilization, analyze variances and provide summary reporting to the Director, Senior Medical Leadership and PHSA corporate departments to meet information and decision-making needs.
- Provide support to the Director, designated departments, and programs, by responding to requests for expertise with costing, business case development, data analysis, and resource allocation planning to meet agency/departmental/program needs. Investigate provider payment and reporting issues.
- Manage, develop, interpret and maintain up-to-date databases and information resources. Responsible for the development of strategies to ensure their usefulness as tools to support information sharing and decision making.
- Evaluate business processes and identify and recommend new tools/applications that will improve work processes and user experience.
What you bring
- A level of education, training, and experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree in Health, Business, Public Administration or related discipline plus a minimum of three (3) years recent related experience in a large organization with an emphasis on business, operations and financial management, and contract administration.
You will also have:
- Superior analytical skills including the ability to comprehend, analyze and resolve complex issues and present information in concise meaningful ways; Highly developed business writing and verbal communication skills with the ability to document work appropriately;
- Demonstrated ability to use database, spreadsheet and word processing software at an advanced level;
- Demonstrated ability to exercise tact, good judgment and initiative; Physical ability to perform the duties of the job.
