What you will be doing:

  • Consistently offer professional, friendly and engaging service while supporting fellow colleagues
  • Ensure the consistency in the preparation of all food items for a la carte menu items according to hotel recipes and standards
  • Responsible for supervising the daily performance of culinary colleagues throughout the shift to ensure standards and expectations are met
  • Maintain proper rotation of product in all refrigerators to minimize wastage/spoilage
  • Ensure cleanliness and maintenance of all work areas, utensils and equipment throughout shift
  • Ensure prep lists and work is completed and passed on as required
  • Communicate effectively with culinary leadership team, as well as front of house restaurant staff
  • Follow all food safety, sanitation and health & safety protocols, as well as all other policies and procedures

Your experience and skills include:

  • Journeyperson’s papers or international equivalent is required
  • Previous experience of at least 6 years within culinary field, in progressive roles in similar settings, is required
  • Previous experience working in restaurants with scratch made items utilizing local ingredients is required
  • Diploma in culinary field is an asset
  • Proven ability to multi task, prioritize and problem solve effectively
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal skills and fluency in English
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast paced environment
  • Demonstrated team work skills, shown through examples of working cohesively as a team with fellow employees across various areas
  • Strong attention to detail
  • Ability to focus attention on guest needs, while remaining calm and courteous at all times
  • Ability to work a variety of shifts and days of the week
