The Opportunity

Listed as one of Canada’s Best Managed Companies, this industry leading travel insurance organization is looking for an experienced Manager to fill this newly creating position within the organization. The main function of this newly created position is to manage the daily operations of the Claims Administration Department to ensure timely and consistent processing of claims. The successful candidate will have a minimum of 5 years successful leadership experience with a professional service orientated position and lead with a customer experience focus.

Key Account Responsibilities and Functions

  • Analyze data to develop, improve and document procedures and guidelines for clams processing.
  • Work closely with the Learning Centre in overhauling training and onboarding content reference materials). Ensuring consistency across all teams and departments.
  • Act as the advisor, coach and trainer to insurance examiners on all company policies and procedures.
  • Review and monitor claims examiner’s calls. Provide feedback and redirection as required.
  • Create and conduct monthly training sessions on new product offerings and procedures.
  • Gather, review and analyze information for various projects.
  • Develop and implement new internal systems to increase department efficiency.
  • Optimize teams’ performance through effective performance management and corrective action reviews.
  • Respond and effectively handle escalated issues and complaints.
  • Review and authorize payment requests as required.
  • Collaborate and work closely with all other teams within the organization.
  • Use sound judgement and knowledge in the claim approval process.
  • Other tasks as assigned.

Required Skills and Qualifications

  • Degree or diploma in business or related discipline.
  • Minimum 5 years of successful team leadership experience in a service orientated or manager role.
  • Experience in claims or financial services management.
  • Knowledge of insurance industry, ability to understand policies and apply knowledge in assessing claims.
  • Proven project planning and execution skills.
  • Past experience in conducting training sessions, reviewing and updating training materials.
  • Excellent analytical and decision making skills.
  • Ability to problem solve and effectively collaborate with stakeholders throughout all levels of the organization to produce desired results.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Advanced MS Office skills, experience with SharePoint.
  • An inherent sense of urgency and a strong passional for continuous learning.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and conflict resolution skills.
