Work Arrangements
The Medical Office Assistant program is seeking a qualified instructor to teach Medical Terminology (OADM 1214) for the Winter 2022 semester and be added to the contract pool for medical office assistant courses.

The Role
The Medical Office Assistant program at Douglas College provides education and training to students seeking employment as medical office assistants.
The Medical Office Assistant programs specific needs at this time are for candidates who can teach Medical Terminology.
Responsibilities
The successful candidate will instruct students, facilitate learning and evaluate student progress. You will plan, organize and teach learning activities. You will ensure students receive the knowledge, information and resources, to succeed by maintaining a quality, learner centered, approach to post-secondary education.
To Be Successful in this Role You Will Need
| In order to teach Medical Terminology the candidate must have: At least one year of experience teaching a comparable medical office assistant medical terminology course in an accredited post-secondary institution
OR
At least two years of recent medical office work experience in a medical environment.
AND
Bachelor’s degree OR Diploma with 2 years of post-secondary teaching experience in a similar program at another recognized post-secondary institution in British Columbia -Preference will be given to candidates with successful post-secondary teaching experience in an office administrative program All candidates should also meet the following criteria:
-Demonstrate good interpersonal skills.
-Work cooperatively with colleagues in a team environment.
-Demonstrate an excellent ability to teach at the post-secondary level. An equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
