Job title: Database Administrator (DBA/SQL)

Job description: The Database Administrator (DBA/SQL) will manage and support a corporate SQL database environment in addition to managing and executing software implementations.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Responsible for administering SQL servers including installations, configuration, monitoring, reporting and backups to ensure optimal performance and availability
  • Responsible for administering/managing application and testing environments including related software to ensure optimal performance and availability
  • Configure and administer data integrations for corporate applications with SQL databases
  • Provide advanced technical expertise as a point of escalation for Client Services and Application Development to diagnose and resolve problems as they relate to database environments
  • Report on operations and system improvements through the proactive monitoring and troubleshooting of corporate applications
  • Assist the Application Development team by performing application/database testing
  • Deploy changes to testing and production environments using change management/release management policies and procedures
  • Manage installations, patching and monitoring of development, test and production application environments
  • Responsible for application catalog and maintain all implementation plans, implementation manuals and other essential technical documentation as per department standards
  • Ensure corporate data is secured in accordance with IT security policies

DESIRED SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE

  • Minimum 3 years of Microsoft SQL Database Administrator experience with large, highly available and/or high-transaction databases in a clustered environment
  • Microsoft SQL design and implementation
  • Experience with deploying SSIS/SSAS packages
  • SQL Server clustering experience
  • SQL database design, database tuning and health monitoring
  • Experience with Microsoft System Centre Operations Manager (SCOM) administration
  • Experience with MS Team Foundation Server (TFS)
  • Application development lifecycle methodology
  • Active Directory Security Management
  • Website management and marketing
  • Microsoft Windows Server Operating System
  • Microsoft Analysis Server
  • Experience with Adobe
  • Able to work as part of a team and independently
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills
  • Willingness to acquire new skills as technology grows
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
  • Excellent interpersonal, organization and communication skills

This is a permanent role located in Toronto, ON with an annual salary of $85,000.00 plus bonus.
