Job description: Located in the heart of Mississauga, Hilton Mississauga Meadowvale is located on 14 acres of lush landscape right in the middle of the city. Just 15 minutes from Pearson International Airport, the property features 372 guest rooms, Restaurant, Bar, Grab n’ Go and over 40,000 sq. ft of meeting space.
Reporting to the Hotel Manager, the Director of Food and Beverage is responsible for overseeing the overall strategy and operations of the restaurant, bars, banquets, culinary and the stewarding department. Responsible for the planning, creativity, promotions, service, training and the success of the Food and Beverage operations through providing exceptional hospitality experience while maximizing profits and helping departments meet their financial targets.

Responsibilities:
The Director of Food & Beverage at Hilton Mississauga Meadowvale holds the following responsibilities:
- Creates and maintains a welcoming and active presence on the floor and ensures team member service excellence for their guests
- Researches, evaluates, recommends and implement changes in food & beverage concepts, new products, standards, service and style
- Prepares the food and beverage profit plan, monitoring performance; Develops food and beverage operating and capital costs budgets
- Coordinates the menu planning process, reviewing menus and prices and recommending changes, evaluating market trends and implementing price changes
- Directs and assists in the development and implementation of creative promotional, sales and special events
- Constantly seeks out ways to enhance service and increase volumes and profit through effective, innovative implementation of the food and beverage strategies
- Develops and maintains close and effective working relationship with all supporting departments, particularly with the Executive Chef, Director of Business Development and the Director of Group Services
- Coordinates food and beverage marketing strategies; Takes an active role in sales & marketing by surveying market to know guest needs, creating special menus for catered events to increase sales and developing innovative ideas to increase average checks, increase covers and increase liquor sales in bars & restaurant
- Formulates short-term and long-term operational and financial plans for the food and beverage department
- Ensures the implementation and compliance of Hilton Brand Standards
- Inspects and tastes prepared foods on a daily basis to ensure quality ingredients, good presentations, recipes meet standards while ensuring health and safety standards are met
- Leads and coaches the food and beverage team, interviewing and hiring new team members, carrying out performance appraisals, directing the training and development of team members. Properly administers the provisions outlined in the Collective Agreement.
- Conducts regular food and beverage meetings, providing objective and constructive feedback to the team members. Ensures the professional development, growth, and work satisfaction of all team members.
- Ensures hotel is in compliance with all provincial and local laws
- Reviews and updates food and beverage purchasing and inventory procedures; Ensures cash and liquor control policies are in place and maintained
- Participates in professional organizations in the industry and community organizations to exchange information and maintain Hilton’s profile in the community
Position Requirements:
As an energetic and seasoned professional team player, you must have:
- A strong food and beverage background with a minimum of 5 years in a Food and Beverage management role including overseeing multiple outlets and banquets at luxury/full-service properties required.
- International experience an asset; must have a good understanding of the local market. Bachelors’ degree in Hospitality or Food and Beverage management an asset
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to develop and maintain strong relations with guests and all team members
- Highly organized with the ability to handle numerous tasks at any one time; ability to work within deadlines
- Knowledge of development and execution of business plans and budgets; Experience in development of Food and Beverage promotions and activities
- Strong culinary and wine knowledge required. Innovative, creative and willing to take risks
