Job description: The Director, Personal & Commercial Banking (P&CB) Finance – Credit Cards will p rovide leadership to Credit Card finance team and deliver best-in-class decision analytics and comprehensive financial management to the Credit Card business within P&CB. The Director will collaborate with Credit Cards Executive team to consistently achieve financial targets, provide strategic advice on cost management, cost drivers and metrics, and make decisions that deliver superior shareholder returns.

What will you do?

  • Support business partners in the development of long term business strategies to ensure short, medium and long term profitability benchmarks are achieved
  • Have a strong understanding of the competitive landscape including product value propositions, loyalty program offerings and RBC market share to drive insightful analysis
  • Lead efforts to simplify and fully understand the complex cost structures (direct and indirect spend) to drive cost management strategies with the business
  • Advance results analysis and forecasting towards a driver based approach for greater financial transparency
  • Lead financial analysis and provide timely advice to business on key business initiatives including external partner contract negotiations, product revitalization, rewards repricing etc.
  • Drive the Catalyst/Strategist mindset within CB Finance to deliver value added analysis and influence business outcomes
  • Collaborate with Financial Control to ensure accuracy and proper accounting policies are followed in the Credit Cards financial statements
  • Provide focus and clarity in establishing individual goals within the Credit Cards finance team, driving performance management, supporting career development and rewarding strong performance

What do you need to succeed?
Must-have

  • Professional accounting or finance designation such as CFA, CPA (CA, CMA, CGA) or Master’s degree (MBA, MMA)
  • 10+ years of experience in Banking/Financial Institutions
  • Demonstrated management experience at senior levels with proven leadership qualities
  • Experience with business cases, financial, statistical and ad-hoc analyses
  • Strategic Business Acumen
  • Proficiency in MS Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Independent, self-directed, results driven

Nice-to-have

  • Finance experience within Credit Cards industry preferred
