About You:

You are capable of working in a fast-paced and rapidly changing environment. Adapting your time and workflow to the most pressing issues at hand will be essential. Your decision-making and communication skills are excellent. You will be responsible to oversee day-of operations, short-term future planning and ensure the efficient execution of the daily flight schedule with a focus on safety, regulations, customer satisfaction, and operational expenditures. You will act as the key decision-maker for the operation and execution of network recovery plans. You will report directly to the Manager, Commercial OCC.

What You’ll Do:

  • Liaising, assist and support internal and external customers and suppliers.
  • On shift oversight of daily operations: maintain schedule integrity, fleet allocation for the best operational result and cost efficiencies.
  • Recommend and action the recovery of flight schedules during Irregular Operation (IROP) situations.
  • Emergency Response processes as described in the Emergency Response Manual (ERM).
  • Overseeing and managing the Company’s Commercial operations while on shift.
  • Assist with coordinating the day of staffing for the OCC.
  • Escalate significant operational issues as required.
  • Drive On-Time Performance (OTP) and Passenger Centric approach.
  • Uphold safety and operational standards to ensure that all practices meet or exceed regulatory and corporate requirements
  • Adhere to and promote Sunwing’s safety initiatives, and particularly during periods of IROPs
  • Champion a departmental culture of operational excellence
  • Foster and maintain a departmental culture that is supportive and consistent with the company values
  • Other duties as assigned.

What You’ll Need:

  • A minimum of five (5) years of work experience in an Airline operations control center.
  • Post-secondary education in Aviation Management or a related field, or an equivalent level of education and experience.
  • Comprehensive understanding of all areas of Airline Operations focused on safety, security, regulatory compliance, excellence in execution and On-Time Performance.
  • Strong communications, organizational and time management abilities with a high attention to detail.
  • Strong people management skills.
  • Must hold a Restricted Radio Telephone Operators Certificate.
  • Must meet Transport Canada age requirements.
  • Work experience as a Flight Dispatcher is an asset.
  • Work experience as an Airport Supervisor is an asset.
  • Must be able to work shift work.
