Job description: Balcan Plastics is among the North American leaders in Flexible Packaging. With over 50 years of experience, this leadership is due to a broad and integrated production capability, distributed across three different manufacturing sites: Montreal, Laval, Terrebonne, Toronto, Drummondville and US. We are looking for a Food Safety Coordinator to join our team.

Responsabilities:

• Implement and maintain a GFSI food Safety System (FSSC 22000) across 3 facilities
• Create and lead the HaCCP team
• Maintain and update Food Safety documentation
• Provide training to employees in regards of food safety program
• Prepare and assist customer and regulatory audits
• Keep track of new or updated government regulations related to food
• Perform internal audits
• Offer support on corrective actions related to food safety issues
• Initiate investigation following food safety related complaints
• Maintain and approve food packaging documentation and questionnaire from our customers

Requirements

• Experience in food safety system implementation and management.
• Diploma in Food Sciences and Technology or in related field.
• Knowledge of ISO and FSSC 22000 standards
• Must be autonomous and require very little supervision
• Strong Leadership
• Good communication skills: French and English
• Ability to lead multidisciplinary team
• Must be available to travel between the different plants
• Good Knowledge in MS Office tools (Office 365)
